Shattergaze laughed. What a fool. She lunged forward, and her teeth crunched deep into Whisperstar's neck until she heard a sharp snap. The cat went limp and she fell, blood pooling around her. "One life down." Shattergaze laughed. "Just eight to go..." She moved in, ready to take them all.
Goldenpaw leapt forward, continuing to claw Skyshadow's face as he blundered around in confusion.

*yowls in pain but charges right towards deathclaw before he could react. slams her shoulder into his windpipe and keeps charging untill she rams them both into a tree. she places her paws on his throat and chest from feel, fueld by adrenaline. takes her right forepaw and slashes a gash into his face from forheard to cheek. puts her paw back and bites his throat*

Whisperstar cursed her stupid mistake but she couldn't stop Shattergaze's attack. Pain flared and then disappeared as her spine snapped and she fell into darkness.

Fallenleaf bashed into Shattergaze hard with his shoulder, sending her flying. He then gripped at her scruff and shook her from side to side, throwing her.
Deathclaw growled, and charged off towards DeathClan.

Skyshadow managed to blink away some of the blood, but he knew he was done fighting. But to make him feel better, he saw Whisperstar fall limp after Shattergaze bit deep into her neck. YES! He turned and ran back toward DeathClan

Shattergaze fell hard, cursing. I was so close! Her head was snapped around as Fallenleaf shook her, but then she growled. "You'll pay for getting in my way. With your life." She broke the grip he had on her neck, and spun to face him. She slashed his face with her claws, and rammed him in the side, knocking him over.

Whisperstar opened her eyes and saw StarClan. "Let me go back! Please, let me go back!" But they just stared at her with sympathy in their eyes. She knew her body needed to mend, but she needed to be with her warriors. She needed to help them fight!

Goldenpaw watched as Skyshadow ran back to his camp, and she yowled. "That's right, run back like you always do, cowards!" She looked around. Was everyone alright? But then she drew in her breath as she saw Whisper fall. Nooo!

*wanders around, still blinded. her eyes were numb, felt like they were vibrating, she hoped theyd just got blood in them annd she be fine*

Fallenleaf jumped to her paws, and ran back at Shattergaze, slashing down her side. She hissed in pain, but ignored it. She could take it. She jumped out of his way, and then slid underneath him. She clawed upwards at his neck, and this time she got the grip she had missed before. Her claws slid across his jugular and cut deep into the flesh of his neck, blood pouring out of him. Shattergaze slipped from under Fallenleaf as his body collapsed, red liquid pooling around him. His eyes flickered for a moment with rage, and then he died. A smile crept onto her face. It was beautiful. She surveyed the scene around her. Most DeathClan cats had left, and she had done well. A life from a leader and the deputy...not bad. Shattergaze turned, and with one last snicker ran back to her camp, victorious.

Finally, one of the StarClan cats stood up and nodded to Whisperstar. "Your body has healed. You may return." Whisperstar stood, her tail lashing impatiently. Her vision faded and when she woke up, she could move. The stench of blood hit her nose and she turned slowly. Her horrified gaze lit on Fallenleaf's limp body, blood pooling out onto the ground. Whisperstar heard pawsteps and turned to see Shattergaze's white pelt disappearing into the trees. Whisperstar threw her head to the sky and let out of yowl of pure anger and grief. Her paws shook as she stepped forward and pressed her nose into Fallenleaf's blood soaked fur. "StarClan, recieve him well. He died a warrior's death," she whispered.

As Shattergaze streaked through the trees, she heard the cry of agony behind her. At the awful sound, a thrill went through her. I've killed a kit, a leader, and now a deputy too. I have quite a collection growing. Another leader would make it just perfect... She laughed loudly, and her icy eyes glinted as she ran back to her camp.
DeathClan had won a mighty victory today.

Whisperstar looked up at Sweetsnow, Goldenpaw, and Spottedsun. "Come," she meowed, her voice rough with grief. "We must take his body home, and the Clan will grieve." Whisperstar grabbed Fallenleaf's scruff and with the help of her warriors, carried him to the camp. They laid him out in the center of the clearing, and Whisperstar started sharing tongues one last time with her deputy. Goldenpaw looked a little shaken, and Whisperstar realized that no matter how sad she was, she still had to be a leader. The tortoiseshell she-cat laid her tail on the apprentice's shoulder in comfort. "You fought well today, Goldenpaw. I saw you against Skyshadow, and you were very brave." She paused and smiled sadly. "Tomorrow morning, after we bury Fallenleaf, I will hold your warrior ceremony. It's a sad time, but we must go on. Fallenleaf would've wanted life to be as normal as possible."

Goldenpaw's eyes were bright with unshed tears. Why? Why do we keep dying no matter how hard I try? She stepped forward and shared tongues with her Deputy. She had liked him...and now he was gone. Then Whisperstar spoke, and she looked up. Made a warrior? Despite the sadness, her heart filled with joy. After all her training, she would finally become what she had always dreamed of being. If only it could have been at a happier time... "Thank you, Whisperstar."
