Whisperstar's ear flicked back to hear the conversation between mentor and apprentice. She smiled to herself. Maybe she was a little obvious. Oh well.

The shadows at the edge of the wood flickered, but the SoulCats didn't notice. Too busy talking amongst themselves, the fools. Shattergaze and the patrol from DeathClan had been running through the woods when they spotted SoulClan. Shattergaze grinned. Now was the perfect time to hit them where it hurt. They hadn't fully recovered from the first attack. They would never expect a second one so soon.
She scanned the cats until the leader caught her icy eye. Her. She will be the next to die. Hurt them so bad they can never recover. And with that, she leapt from the bushes and tackled Whisperstar to the ground.

"Whisperstar! Watch out!" Her yowl rang through the air as more DeathClan cats piled out of the bushed behind their deputy, Shattergaze.

Whisperstar let out a yowl of surprise and rage when Shattergaze came out of nowhere. She hissed and raked her claws along the DeathCat's shoulder.

Skyshadow grinned and followed his deputy out of the bushes. It made him happy to see the stupid SoulCat's so frightened and confused. And it made him even happier to see who Shattergaze had targeted. Excellent.

Goldenpaw watched the DC cat fly through the air. No! Not so soon! She instinctivly fell into a battle crouch, tail lashing. "Watch out! DeathClan is here!" She leapt next to her mentor, ready for anything.

Deathclaw burst out from behind Shattergaze, raking his claws along Sweetsnow's sides.
Fallenleaf growled, ripping into Shattergaze's back.

Shattergaze hissed, but matched the attack with a rake of her own claws, leaving bloody gashes down Whisperstar's side. She then dug her back paws into her shoulder. She heard other cats scream, and grinned. Skyshadow and the rest must be here...good. They won't know what hit them.

Skyshadow glanced around, then leapt for Spottedsun. What a stupid name (lol SORRY it's a sweet name, btw). His massive size dwarfed her. He would have no trouble. He raked his claws down her side, staying completely silent.

Shattergaze arched her back, throwing the deputy off her. Worthless. I need to take out the leader. She bit into Whisperstar's neck, gripping the cat with her claws.
Goldenpaw launched herself at Skyshadow as the cat attacked Spottedsun. He's so big... she thought, but that didn't stop her from latching onto his back and clawing at his eyes.

Fallenleaf growled, throwing Shattergaze off of Whisperstar and tackling her to the ground.

Whisperstar battered Shattergaze's stomach with her claws, making huge bloody gashes. She twisted her head side to side, her teeth catching in Shattergaze's ear and tearing it. She wriggled and squirmed, trying to get free (dude let me up lol)

Spottedsun leapt up, ignoring the sting in her side, thanking StarClan for Goldenpaw's quick wit, and stealthily crawled around to his back, before rearing up and butting her head into his side. The impact made her dizzy for a moment, but she shook away the feeling and took her chance while he was dazed to knock him down with all her might, slashing her claws across his stomach.
