Whisperstar turned away from Dogfang and leaped up onto Highrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" When the Clan had gathered, she began. "It is my duty, all too soon, to appoint a new Deputy of SoulClan." Her voice was sad, but strong and firm. "I say these words before the body of Fallenleaf, that his spirit will hear and approve my choice." Whisperstar paused, letting the suspense build.
"Dogfang will be the new Deputy of SoulClan!"

Dogfang padded back into the camp just in time to hear her words. His head and tail raised high, he padded over to the Highrock. I knew it! he though happily. He jumped up on top of the Highrock barely fitting with Whisperstar. He consider shoving her down saying it was an axident but thought better of it. '' It will be my honor to be the deputy of SoulClan. '' he mewed loudly, his eyes shining. '' I too will grieve over Fallenleaves. He was a great warrior and deputy with an untimely death '' he mewed sadly but just as loud.

Spottedsun called from the Queen's Den. "Dogfang! Dogfang!" She was careful to not wake her kits, but hoped he heard her. She was glad Whisperstar felt a bit better, even though the grief of Fallenleaf's death still hung in the air. She bowed her head for a moment, praying.

Thornclaw stared at Whisperwind, shocked. No way, doesn't she see how ambitious he is? If anything, she must notice how he constantly insults cats, right? This isn't going to be good.

Saidie stood still. Eyes wide open. dogfang as deputy? saidie began to worry a little bit.. But saidie understood Whisperstar'schoice. Fallenleaf will now be in starclan, watching over us. Saidie smiled and cheered Dogfangs name. But then, something hit saidie. What was it, love? No! Saidie chuckled to herself. How could she fall in love with a cat that Hates her?!

Dogfang scanned the clearing with a smile. They're cheering my name! he thought to himself. He looked over the cats. He saw Spottedsun cheering from the nursery. He saw the scowl on Thornclaw's face and shot him a quick glare. Not even that idiot can ruin this! he thought happily to himself. He saw Starpaw and smiled at her. He had always liked the little apprentice a bit. Then his gaze slipped to a stunningly beutiful black and white cat. Not beutiful! Just some stupid kittypet that doesn't belong here! a voice in his head told him.

Goldenpaw narrowed her eyes. Dogfang? How can he be Deputy? This...this might be bad... But she called his name along with the others, but noticed she wasn't the only one unhappy with the choice.
