Spottedsun nodded in agreement. "Yes, it is quite different from catching a mouse or squirrel. I'll show you sometime; it get's much easier when you've practiced a lot." She licked her lips, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. Getting up and stretching, Spottedsun mewed to Goldenpaw, "Okay, how about now?"

Goldenpaw immediately leapt to her paws. "Yes! Now would be great!" This was what Goldenpaw had been waiting for: even as a kit, all she could think about was learning how to fight like a great warrior. And now she finally would! It was almost too much, and she tingled with excitement, bouncing up and down. "Ready? Ready?"

Spottedsun grinned at her apprentice, and flicked her tail to tell her they were leaving for the forest. She walked along, happy that the shadey spots cooled her well-worked pads. "Okay, so we'll start with the back kick. Simple, but you have to learn to get it right. It involves a lot of balance." She walked out to the center of the clearing and waited for Goldenpaw to be ready to watch. She unsheathed her claws.

Goldenpaw padded along behind Spottedsun to the training area, and listened to her mentor explain the first move. Although usually playful and very excited about life in general, right now Goldenpaw went serious. She wanted to know this so much, so she needed to pay attention. "Ok."

Spottedsun nodded. "Okay, so you're going to have to unsheathe your claws for this, -for balance, and of course, it's an attack. You have to be able to jugde how much force your going to put into your kick, by using how close your enemy is. The cat could be standing profile so you'd kick him in the side, or better, in the face. You're gonna leap forward and land on your front paws, kicking up your back paws with full force." (Sorry, I know that didn't make much sense. T_T I have to go to bed now. Bye!)

((Ok...so am I basically kicking up backwards? cuz thats kinda wut i got from it XD))
Goldenpaw listened carefully, then unsheathed her claws. She did a few practice kicks, trying to get the form down. She leapt, and lashed out with her back feet. The first time she lost her balance, wobbling, but stayed up. Goldenpaw tried again and again until she didn't falter any more.

Goldenpaw turned to face her mentor, and took a deep breath. Okay...here goes! She sprinted forward at Spottedsun, but then at the last moment shifted and dropped to the ground, sliding across the grass underneath the warrior, and she kicked up with her back paws, heaving Spottedsun off the ground.

Spottedsun was knocked side-ways just a bit, but fastened her claws into the ground so budged just a mouse tail. Grinning, she whirled around and leapt onto Goldenpaw's, gently pressing her claws in the apprentice's shoulders.

Goldenpaw dropped to the ground and turned around under the cat. She pummeled into Spottedsun's stomach with her back paws, kicking hard into her belly. Then she rolled out from under the warrior, swiping her face with her paw.

Spottedsun hissed in surprise and irritation that she hadn't guessed she'd do that, but she was half grinning. This was the best fighting she had seen in a long time! As Goldenpaw stood up, readying her crouch to spring at the silver and black she-cat, Spottedsun swerved to the left but then tricked her, swiveling back to the right and knocking Goldenpaw out from under her paws. Spottedsun jumped away before the she-cat could leap up and attack her again.

Goldenpaw grinned. This was so much fun! She loooooved fighting so much. Her eyes widened in surprise as she was knocked onto her side by Spottedsun, and she saw her mentor quickly jump away, out of reach. Goldenpaw turned her fall into a roll, and then was back on her feet. She ran at Spottedsun again, and feinted right then swerved left, knocking into the warrior hard with her shoulder, knocking her over onto her back. She jumped up and slammed down with her front paws into Spottedsun's chest.

Spottedsun breath burst from her mouth in surprise, she she wriggled beneath Goldenpaw's paws, until, at last, she'd wriggled free. Before Goldenpaw could slam her paws down on the she-cat again, Spottedsun rolled away, almost the same as Goldenpaw had done, and took a deep breath. She stood in the dust, and flicked her tail, unsheathing her claws. "Well done!" she panted, smiling. "Very well done! I could barely keep up! You truely have the mind of a fighting warrior. How did you learn all of those moves?"

Goldenpaw's feet came down on nothing but soil as her mentor rolled away. Looking up, surprised, she saw the warrior get to her feet and smile. As Spottedsun praised her, Goldenpaw grinned hugely, beaming. "Thanks. I've been practicing since I was a kit, I would always sneak out of camp and train!"

Spottedsun hesitated for half of a heartbeat, trying to remember the move, but the immediately got into position. "Okay, so this is Belly Rake. I think you have the most part of it down, but I just wanna make sure." Suddenly she leaped up, and toppled on Goldenpaw. She stayed like that for a moment, then mewed, "Leap onto your opponent so you have them pinned down." She then slightly unsheathed her claws. "Then rake your paws down their stomach. This is a fight stopper, but will bring you quickly in control of the fight." She got up, telling Goldenpaw, "You try." (I have to go now. Be back later! Bye!)

Goldenpaw rolled to her feet and shook herself off. "Okay, got it." She took a deep breath, and then sprinted at Spottedsun. She leapt through the air and plowed her front feet into her mentor's side, knocking her over. They landed, and Goldenpaw jumped on her stomach, back feet on Spottedsun's belly, and raked with her back feet, but with her claws sheathed.
