(*Laughs* Well, Whisper maybe you could help me tell her what to do! =] Or, I just randomly fall asleep and you have to answer for me. XD) Spottedsun nodded at her words. "I see... Well, you should explain to her that it's difficult for you, and you don't want to break the warrior code,-I'm proud of you for that- or maybe you should try to persuade Whisperstar to allow her to come back..." She cast a pleading glance at Whisperstar. "What do you think, Whisperstar?"

"I really don't think anyone will want her back, after what she did, and I'm really surprised at myself that I managed to forgive her, let it go, because I knew she didn't want to kill me or Heartkit. What do you think, Whisperstar?" Joypaw was slightly trembling; She hadn't thought of what her leader was going to say.

She nodded in understanding. "Right. It's okay to think that."

"Do you think that if I see her again, just explain why I shouldn't be seeing her anymore?" Joypaw asked.

Whisperstar hesitated, and then sighed. She settled her paws more comfortably in the nursery. "Joypaw, let me first say that I thank you for telling me this instead of keeping secrets. You have acted like a warrior. But as for Stormheart..." Whisperstar hesitated again. This was such a confusing topic. She didn't know what to think about it. "I swore vengeance on you and Heartkit. I said we would treat Stormheart as any other enemy, and she would pay for what she had done. I called her a traitor. I cast her out. I..." Grief shook her voice and she whispered, "I failed her. She was my apprentice, I should've been able to do something. And I can understand where you're coming from, Joypaw. You have a great heart, to forgive her for killing you. You believe she did not do it of her own choice? And she has left DeathClan now..." Whisperstar paused, thinking. "Then it sounds to me that we do not have Stormheart's side of the story. There are factors we do not know of...things we do not understand."
Whisperstar met eyes with Spottedsun for a heartbeat, then returned to Joypaw. She stood. "I cannot promise to allow Stormheart back into the Clan. But I will promise to hear her out. She may enter our camp and tell her side of the story, for the whole Clan to judge. And," she flicked her tail at Joypaw, "you may fetch her. Go find her, wherever she is, and bring her back."

Joypaw knew how guilty Whisperstar felt. "Whisperstar, let me say you had nothing to do with Stormheart's choice. You were a great mentor to her. And I heard her almost admit it to Skyshadow and Darkstar. Or was that Shattergaze? Either one. She's living in Twolegplace. I'll find her. Thank you." She dipped her head, and went to find Stormheart.

Spottedsun silently listened to the two's words and understood inside. Whisperstar didn't have anger or vendetta (XD got that from Eclipse) against the silver she-cat who now stood as an outcast, but she didn't want to completely accept her either, for the sake of her Clan. She smiled at the to the tortoishell she-cat, and nodded. "You said everything that had to be said. I'm Joypaw feels so much better." Spottedsun turned her head and watched through the nursery entrance, the apprentice leave camp. She wondered what Stormheart's reaction to the news would be like. They good only wait. Good luck, Joypaw. Spottedsun thought.

After her talk with Mapleleaf and Faithsong, Joypaw felt discouraged. Her hope had been shattered after she saw how much dislike the Clan held for Stormheart. I'll go see Spottedsun and her kits, she decided. I'd like to know what Spotted thinks, and it'll keep me busy. Joypaw got up, grabbed two plump mice from the fresh-kill pile, then padded toward the nursury. She stuck her head in, making sure the kits weren't asleep. "Hi, Spottedsun," she mewed at the light-grey queen. "How are these three getting along?" She glanced at each kit: Flamekit, Tanglekit, and Shimmerkit. She watched as sunlight poured into the den, showing her how Shimmerkit was named. She smiled; the sight of strong kits always made her happy, espicially watching them play and grow into fine warriors. She knew she might train alongside them for a while; Joypaw was still only seven moons old. Still quite young, but growing fast, with Thornclaw's help. Speaking of Thornclaw, it's quite strange how quickly he clicked with Blossommask. They must have a similar past. Many odd happenings had taken place before Joypaw's birth. She still considered herself lucky; Honeykit, her sister born in a different litter, but same mother, Willowhispersong, and the same unknown father, would be even more clueless. Joypaw knew only one thing: Her mentor had quite a history, but didn't like to talk about it. She pushed away these confusing thoughts; the next Gathering would be soon, and she hoped Whisperstar would let her go. She'd been working hard, hoped to learn some battle training soon. If Spottedsun doesn't need anything, she decided, I'll go find Thornclaw. I think I need some more training soon, and not just for the Gathering. She looked back at Spottedsun, wondering what else she might need. She glanced at the bedding, which seemed okay. "The Gathering's soon," she meowed excitedly, all thoughts of Stormheart gone. "Are you going? What do you think DeathClan will have to report? What's a Gathering like?" Her questions poured out of her mouth like water crashing down the waterfall.

Spottedsun flicked her ears at the young she-cat, smiling. "Why thank you, Joypaw," she purred, pushing the mouse with her nose toward the wall of the den to eat after their chat. Her eyes watched Joypaw for a bit, watching as her facial expression changed once from a thoughtful look to a look of happiness. Her eyes flickered to her kits, and back at Joypaw. Does she already wish for kits of her own? she wondered, steadying her head on her paws and tracing patterns in the dirt with her eyes. Nothing like silence could be more relaxing. Spottedsun's mind had been on DeathClan lately, and whether or not they were ready to attack. Her body stiffened at the frightening thought, tail moving closer to the suckling kits. Their fur seemed glossy and healthy, eyes open but the blue not faded away yet. She wondered what color eyes they'd have by the time they were apprentices... Spottedsun gazed up at Joypaw for another couple of heart-beats. Could she be wondering how Stormheart was? Spottedsun still hadn't figured out how she felt about the she-cat, but she'd heard many different forms of gossip coming from inside the camp. Some cats had taken sides against Stormheart, while others remembered how hard she worked as an apprentice to Whisperstar and could relate to what she'd done. After a couple of seconds of snoozing, Spottedsun looked up at the sound of the ginger she-cat's questions. "No, I'm probably not. Not with these three. Oh...they could say anything.. Boast about hunting, report on more young kits becoming apprenitces, stuff like that. I bet you'll get to go." She winked. "But Gatherings are usually busy. Most of time, like I've heard in the nursery stories as a kit, however many Clans come would mingle and talk before the Gathering. But since we've had so much difficulty with them, I bet all of our pelts will be pressed to the edge of the clearing. Tell me you'll be careful, please."

Joypaw was acutely aware of how Spottedsun was watching her intently, observing her facial expressions, Why must I always give my emotions away? she thought. "Why I need to be careful? Would they dare break the truce? If they do, I'll be careful, don't worry." She looked at the kits again, hoping DeathClan wouldn't try to harm them. They were growing so strong and healthy. "Do you miss being a warrior sometimes?" she asked. "I know I'm not a warrior yet, but I know I would miss it. I don't think it's much different then being an apprentice, minus the training and chores, and warriors know a lot more than apprentices and have more experience." Joypaw hoped she was right.

Spottedsun took a deep breath. "Joypaw, desperate times call for desperate measures. DeathClan's minds are shrouded with their bloodlust and urgency to kill. They wouldn't give a mouse-tail about StarClan. But I think they'd appear as though they were following StarClan to not look stupid in front of us. They know that we will always have a back up plan or StarClan's guidance in rough times." Spottedsun lied her head back on her paws, thinking. Joypaw's question made her smile, because during all the time she'd been taking care of her kits, not once had that thought come to her mind. But, of course, it was worth thinking about. She sighed. "You know, sometimes I miss it. When I sit in here alone and they're sleeping, I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn't met that loner. Probably more simple, and I wouldn't have so much regret bundled up in my heart. But for some reason...some strange, strange reason, I think I was ment to give birth to them. It could be just a hunch or maybe I've gone a bit coo-coo, but that's alright." She flicked her ears. "Of course you'd miss it, dear." Spottedsun extended her paw towards Joypaw. "Somedays, I think about how much effort you and Goldenshard put into training. Though she's finally a warrior now, I miss her sometimes, but she deserved her ceremony and warrior name. You will too, don't you worry. Thornclaw puts so much work on you because he wants you to succeed to your highest level. He know's nothing can stop you." She paused, unsure whether to go on. But Spottedsun trusted Joypaw with this statement: "And now a-days, I feel that I didn't press Goldenshard to her best either. Sure, we trained a lot and she learned useful hunting skills, but I know we could have gotten out more. I hope Goldenshard never thinks I didn't try my best for her. But Joypaw, I know you're trying you best everyday and again, I have to say I'm so very proud of you." Word Count: 371
