Tangletail smirked slightly as she passed the border into SoulClan territory. The boundry was the least of her thoughts right now, and the SoulClan territory was a short-cut. Tonight, she was going to receive her nine lives, and like all leaders, had to go a day without food nor water to have the dream from StarClan.
The smell of SoulClan washed over her, making it hard to concentrate. With a light growl, she pressed onwards.

Whisperwind stalked the mouse through the undergrowth. She was almost close enough to pounce when a wave of smell hit her. Tanglestar! she thought angrily. The mouse smelled the other cat at the same time and bolted. Whisperwind lashed her tail and bounded through the trees until she came upon the DeathClan leader. "What are you doing on SoulClan territory?" she snarled.

Shatterpaw glared at the SoulClan deputy. She had bounded out of the forest, acting like they had killed a cat or something. And they hadn't...yet. Shatterpaw snarled at the cat, spitting. "What is it to you, Whisperwind? We are going to the Moonpool so my leader can recieve her nine lives. We're just taking a shortcut. Surely even a SoulClan cat can comprehend that?"

With a grunt, Tanglestar pointed her tail to the apprentice.
"Precisly." She growled suddenly and loudly. "Now if you excuse us," She started to pad past her, making sure that Shatterdpaw was following her.

Stormkit quietly played with herself on the SoulClan border, and noticed the DeathClan cats. A frown on her face, she marched over to them, and spat; "What are YOU guys doing here?"

Tangletail used her paw and pushed Stormkit away. "Why can't you SoulClan cats just leave us alone while I go recieve my nine lives?"

"Goodbye, little kitten. I'll be sure to come back and dispose of you." She grinned sarcastically. "Or are you just to big of a warrior to die?" She leaned in and laughed a raspy laugh. "Are you getting your nine lives?"
With a last chuckle of amusment, she got to her paws and disappeared through the lichen, then stopped and waited for the others to follow.

Shatterpaw nods to her leader lets out a cold laugh when the kit tries to stop Tanglestar. "Get out of our way, or we will kill you. Keep that in mind. It would be foolish to throw your life away as a kit." Glares at the kit for a moment more, then puts up tail and follows Tanglestar.

Tangletail smiled at the apprentice's attitude. Her mind pondered as she remembered she needed a mentor, then she realized that she could use an apprentice herself. She waited for Shatterpaw to catch up, and she asked:
"Shatterpaw, wouldn't you like for me to be your mentor?"

Eyes go wide for a moment, then dips her head. "I would be honored, Tanglestar!" But her eyes narrow as she hears the kit behind her, and she whirls around, glaring. "I would shut your trap if you wish to continue living."

"I think you have great potential." She laughed as she pointed her tail towards the small kit in the background. She leapt over Shatterpaw and growled in Stormkit's face. "Don't mess with us, you hear that, puny kit?"

Shatterpaw dips her head once more. "Thank you, Tanglestar." Eyes follow her as Tanglestar leaps over her and addresses the kit. She glares silently. If the kit made one more move, she would not hesitate to attack. Not kill, perhaps, but leave her a big enough scar to remember to respect DeathClan.
