Joypaw rolled over before Blackheart could pin her down, then stood up and backed away. "What in the name of StarClan was that for?" she growled.

Joypaw was still prepared, and again she rolled out the way. "Listen to Stormheart; she has a good point." She turned to the silver she-cat warrior. "Yes; I'm a SoulClan apprentice."

"I lost my memory," Stormheart began. "Could you possibly tell me who I was? I remember rushing into a battle, and then getting hit hard on the neck, but everything else is a blank. I remember that I used to be an apprentice. Could you tell me who I was? Stormpaw, I think, because apprentices always have 'paw' after the first part of their name. Do you know me?"

Joypaw's heart warmed up with happiness. She remembered everything; she had fought in that battle too! Stormpaw had been one of her best friends. "I remember you!" she cried. "I fought in that battle too! Stormpaw and I were really good friends, too! All her legs were broken by DeathClan, and I couldn't do anything because I was knocked unconsious!" All the memories of the battle cam flooding back to her. "I tried taking your body to camp, but you were bigger, and I couldn't outrun them..." Joypaw broke off.

Goldenpaw began padding back to camp, head down. She was tired, but not from fighting. One of her best friends was dead. She sighed as she walked closer to the camp. After the death of the apprentice, most of the fighting had dispersed, no one left to fight. So Goldenpaw had headed back, going to help with the wounded. She broke through the covering around camp to see Joypaw talking to a warrior she hadn't seen before. Scenting the air, the stranger had a familiar scent, but no DeathClan. She blinked. Do I know that warrior...? I can't...that's not possible, right? Goldenpaw shook her head and padded up. "What's going on?"

"I swear that's what happened. I was there." Joypaw mewed. She stepped away from Blackheart. "No! Don't even try to kill me." She looked at Stormheart. "You are with SoulClan, and always was. We were good friends. We still are. Don't kill me."

The moment Stormheart said the words, it hit Goldenpaw like a punch in the gut. Every image she had had of Stormpaw flashed in her eyes, and then she saw that this warrior was Stormpaw...the same in every way except for her age and the scars, like she had been wiped clean. Goldenpaw looked on with disbelief. "Storm? How? I saw you die..." Her eyes filled with hatred. "...I almost killed the cat who killed you!!"

"I won't," Stormheart promised. "I know I'm part of SoulClan; that's one of the few things I remember."
Stormheart then turned to Goldenpaw.
"There's no way I could be dead, though that does explain the memory loss."

Goldenpaw just shook her head. How is Storm alive? But then she noticed the DeathClan cat and spun to face her, hissing. "Beat it, DeathClan filth. I've had enough of your crap today. You stick around any longer and I'll kick your ass just like I did Lighteningwind's!"
