Shattergaze padded into the center of camp, sat, and curled her tail around her feet. She heightened her commanding voice so all the warriors and apprentices would hear her. "Darkstar is going to be leaving for the Moonpool to receive his lives. In his absence, I am leading DeathClan. He has ordered a patrol of the SoulClan border, to make sure they don't try anything while he is away." She read off a list of names of warriors going on the patrol, then said, "But Screamstep and Skyshadow are to stay behind. We need to keep some of our strongest cats back and guard the camp." Then she looked up. "Any questions? And are there any other cats who wish to join the patrol or the guard?"

Blackdeath, without hesitation, stepped forward and growled, "I would like to join the patrol." He smirked and flexed his claws, "I could do with a bit of a SoulClan cat's fur lining my nest."

Shattergaze nodded to Blackdeath. He was a good cat to have on the patrol. He was as bloodthirsty as any cat she knew. "Alright Blackdeath, you're on the patrol. Anyone else? We have to move out soon."

Blackdeath's gaze traveled over the other cats who seemed completely unwanting to go on patrol. He smirked. They had probably changed their minds because he himself had wanted to come. "Cowards..." he muttered under his breath, not caring if others heard.

Whitekit's eyes flashed as she watched the cats gather up from the shadows.
She padded into the sunlight and growled to get their attention.
"I want to go too. I'm almost an apprentice." She declared.

Shattergaze scrutinized the kit. It was true, she was almost an apprentice. But she was still a kit. It would be a good experience... She looked down at the kit. "Whitekit. You will be allowed to accompany this patrol only if the other warriors on it wish you to join. Because you have no training, you will be a weak link. The others will have to watch out for you, and I need to know they are fine with that in order for you to go."

Weak? Whitekit's fur bristled in anger but she stopped herself from saying a rather mean response. She nodded stiffly then waited for the rest of the cats answers.

"She can come." Blackdeath meowed, gaping open his jaws into a boring yawn, "But I'm not going to watch her. If she dies, she dies." he shrugged.
"No real lose to me." he smirked.

Shattergaze narrowed her icy eyes at the kit, then shrugged. "I agree with Blackdeath. You can go, and if you die, well, then it was your fault." She turned her eyes to Lightningwind and nodded. "Yes, you can go. Anyone else? If not, then we are moving out. I will lead."

"I won't die." She said coldly. "I learned from one of the best cats." She got up and followed after the warriors catching up to their pace easily.

"We'll soon find out." Shattergaze did respect the courage the kit had, but no matter how much she had learned, Whitekit was still just a kit and wouldn't really be able to stand up to a warrior of SoulClan. Hopefully she won't die...we don't have very many kits. It would be a waste. Shattergaze loped to the lead of the group, then looked back at DeathClan. "If anyone else wants to come, meet us at the SoulClan border." Turning to the cats in her patrol, she nodded. "Let's go. And stealth is everything. I want to be able to sneak up on those SoulCats and bite down on their necks before they know what happened." She faced the direction of SoulClan, and quickly and silently fell into an easy run.

Whitekit muttered something under her breath and nodded. She streaked after the stream of DeathClan cats her paws barley touching the ground.
