Tangletail's breathing suddenly returned to her and she opened her eyes slowly.

Whisperwind watched with a blank expression. There was no way she'd be able to kill her however many more times...she didn't have it in her.

Tangletail suddenly realized what was going on and she got to her feet, stronger than ever. She snarled loudly, her teeth slightly red. Her claws sunk into the earth below her; she looked like a demon sent straight from hell. Blood still covered her pelt.

Whisperwind's eyes narrowed. She didn't have to kill Tangletail, but that didn't mean she wouldn't fight. "What, you didn't have enough the first time around? You wanted to come back for more?"

"You know it." She laughed.
Tangletail rammed into her knocking her over. She didn't think much of how close they were to the pulsing river.

Whisperwind gasped as they rolled even closer the the water. The bank was high and steep where the were. They had moved farther down in their fight...far away from the shallow place where she had stopped only moments before to get a drink. She could hear the angry roaring as the current flew past, the white spray lightly showering her. Whisperwind heaved with her back paws and threw Tangletail off her. Both cats were panting, now. "So eager to lose again, Tangle?" she taunted, and threw herself at the she-cat.

She gasped as when Whisperwind attacked her, she started to fall off the edge of the bank into the river. She held on with her two front paws, the back ones scrapped the dirt drop-off frantically, trying to get a hold. The only good that did was make dirt fall into the water. For once, her eyes were full of plain fear.

Whisperwind's eyes widened in shock. Tangletail was falling! She could see the edge of the bank crumbling under her paws. She leaped forward to try and grab the she-cat's scruff, but she was too late. Tangletail lost her grip and plunged into the cold water.

She yowled loudly as she was taken down the river. She heard the waterfall getting closer.
Fallenleaves... He filled her mind in the last moments of her life. She was plunged under the water, then suddenly felt herself falling.
Sorry, StarClan...I'll work on trying to be good. She smiled up to the stars right before she smashed into the water below. She didn't resurface.

Whisperwind watched in horror as Tangletail disappeared under the water. She ran to the edge of the waterfall, crying out when the she-cat fell. But...surely she would come back up? The minutes passed...and Tangle never came back up. Whisperwind scrambled down the rocks to the bottom of the waterfall where the river gathered in a pool. She couldn't see Tangle under the water anywhere. She's...gone. The stunning realization hit Whisperwind after a few moments. It didn't matter that she had more lives left...StarClan couldn't compete with the river's mighty force. Whisperwind bowed her head and then turned away, back to the SoulClan camp. So it's over. Tangletail is dead.
