Venturing into camp

It was sunny, a warm front softly blew over the camp. Flower petals blew in the breeze. If you hear closly, you can hear a kit mewling. Sorrelkit just crawled over for her mommy's sweet milk. It was warm and delecious. Sorrelkit curled up closer to her mommy a little more fir warmth.

Suddenly, sorrelkit's eyes slowly began to open up into the new world. Once fully opened Sorrelkit glanced around the nersery. It was better than she had imagined it would be! Sorrelkit blinked. Evreything was so clear. She could see the world around her now. Sorrelkit REALLY wanted to see the camp. Seeing her mommy was asleep,The huge calico she cat began to crawl out of then entrance. Just to take a little peek. ha! Famous last words! Sorrelkit began to look out side The nursery. Wow! there were so many cats of all sizes. Big or small. They were running along. Some were being lazy and napping. Suddenly, sorrelkit leaned to far over the entrance and fell off. She landed with
loud thump! Sorrelkit mewled a little but got up. Sorrelkit began to crawl around camp. So many cats! Sorrelkitcrawled a little more and saw a huge den, the leader's den.

Sorrelkit knew that she really shoudent have gone this far into camp. But it was too far to go back now.... Sorrelkit wondered if she could really go there. Sorrelkit hesitated but entered thecleader's den. Sorrelkit's little eyes buzzed with amazement. It was HUGE! And whisperstar's bed was HUGE! Sorrelkit ran up to it and smelled it's sweet scent. Suddenly, sorrelkit headed voices. It was a cat! Sorrelkit quickly darted for the entrance of the den.

Saidie woke up with a start of a bad dream. Saidie looked to see if her kits were there, coalkit was sleeping. But Sorrelkit was missing. oh no! Sorrelkit! My baby is missing! saidie squirmed around and raced out of the nursery and youled, " Sorrelkit's missing!!!"

Sorrelkit got close t the ground as her mommy youled her name. Sorrelkit fell very wguilty. Her mommy had to suffer my mischief. Sorrelkit tried to find her mommy. But too many cats were running around.

Whisperstar was sharing tongues with Spottedsun, when she heard Saidie's panicky yowl echo from the Nursery. Whisperstar leaped to her paws, fur bristling. "Okay, everyone calm down! Apprentices, search the dens. Spottedsun and Goldenpaw, guard the entrance. Warriors, see Dogfang for patrol assignments. I want two patrols to sweep the outside of the camp. Sandheart, look through your herb stores. Sorrelkit can't have gotten far."

Whisperstar leaped into action, nosing through the fresh-kill pile while her Clan all did their assigned duties. There was no sign of the kit. She straightened up and swept a glance around camp. Cats were running all over, searching for signs of the kit. I hope DeathClan hasn't captured her... The dreadful thought ran through Whisperstar's mind. Another idea struck her and she bounded across the camp to Highrock, and her den underneath. She took a deep breath, scenting the air. There! Sorrelkit's milky scent was strong. She moved forward, and noticed the lump in her bedding. She smiled, her heart slowing down in rhythm and she moved forward.

"Sorrelkit!" she called softly. "Sorrelkit, your mommy's looking for you!"

Goldenpaw nodded, and immediately went through camp towards the entrance. As she went by the cats, she searched for the small kit. Pelts flashed by, but she didn't recognize Sorrelkit's anywhere. Where could that kit have gone? She's not that fast! Reaching the entrance, Goldenpaw looked around but didn't see the kit anywhere. She scented the air, and detected no trace of the kit. Well she's still in camp... Looking back, Goldenpaw saw that Whisperstar was speaking into her den, and sighed with relief. Looks like Whisper found her. Normally the SoulClan cats didn't freak out as much when kits wandered off, but with DeathClan and the recent death of kits...it was no wonder they were on edge.
