Walking Around

Joypaw wondered out of camp, slightly away from the clearing where Thornclaw had taken her the day before. She drew a deep breath, still catching a stale scent of where DeathClan had invaded and attacked Thornclaw. She shivered at the memory. What's the matter with those DeathClan warriors, she thought. Why can't they respect our territory? She remembered one of her last days in the nursery, when one of DeathClan's warriors had come in and had seemed to want to kill her and all her friends. She shivered again, not from the slight breeze that had blown her way.

Spottedsun stepped out of the trees, a vole hanging from her jaw. She had been fortunate enough to catch it, lucky that it hadn't drowned in the New-leaf flooding. "Greetings, Joypaw. What are you doing here?"

"Just walking around. I already hunted today, and caught a mouse and vole." Pride shone in Joypaw's voice. "I see you've also made a good catch today." She smiled at Spottedsun. "Good catch. It's a nice plump one, and didn't drown in the new-leaf flooding."

"Thank you." she grinned at the apprentice. "I'm glad you've gotten along well with learning to be a warrior. I know you must be so happy."

Joypaw grinned even wider. "Yeah. Thornclaw's an awesome mentor. And I'm absouletely sure Goldenpaw's doing great, cuz she also has an awesome mentor." She looked up at Spottedsun. "Wanna go hunting later? Are you going on any patrols?"

She blushed, and nodded. "Goldenpaw is doing well. I'm glad you enjoy training with Thornclaw."Thinking, she shook her head. "No, so sure!"

"Spottedsun, you're not going to be happy about this, but when I dropped off Spotty Jr., I ran back to the fighting and joined the battle, trying to get Whitepaw off of Stormpaw. I was knocked out for a while, and when I woke up I saw Stormpaw, and she seemed okay." Joypaw looked at her paws.
