"No, there are cats that pretend to be loyal to you, sorry to burst your bubble," Stormheart corrected, her voice taunting. Her eyes glinted with amusement. "Excuse me, Deputy," she rolled her eyes as she said the word. "At least I've heard of the Warrior Code, and don't try to act all High-And-Mighty."

Dogfang rose his eyebrows at the little apprentice. "You think you can take me out? Where did your brain go to? StarClan?"
He looked over at Stormheart, starting to pace around her. "Oh, like you pretend to me? I know you don't follow anything I say. Ha, heard of it. Why'd you break it in the first place?"

"Yeah, I know that I don't follow anything you say. Unlike a decent amount of the others, I'm not afraid of you," Stormheart replied, and a hiss rose up in her throat at Dogfang's second comment. "That is none of your business!"

He chuckled darkly. "Oh, but Stormheart, you should be."
He turned his head, for he had been closing his eyes while he groomed himself, yellow eyes flaring. "None of my business, eh? Really? Well, I mean, it should be. . . if I kicked you off my territory right on the spot." He flashed her a malicious smile.

"What a bully..." Windpaw says, sitting down to watch. "Dogfang, o deputy, I'd love to take you on. I dont care if you rip me to shreds, just so that I get in a good scratch." She flicks her tail and looks at Dogfang, wondering what he would do now.

"A good scratch? Where? On my paw? 'Cause I mean, that's only where you can reach. Ow. That'll hurt sooo much. I'm sobbing and writhing in pain at the thought of it." Dogfang stood flicking his tail. He scowled at the apprentice.
"What are you doing still sitting there? I told you to go hunt!" He roared, stepping toward with unsheathed claws. Some cats said he had a short temper, and others said he had a long one. Dogfang loved being unpredictable.

Windpaw rolls her eyes. "Are you insane? Your going to attack an apprentice for simply disobaying an order, and order that dosent really even matter? If your so worried about getting the clan food, you need to go hunt, not just every body else."

Joypaw, who was with Windpaw, meowed to her, "He's been acting like this ever since he was made deputy. I hate it! I miss Fallenleaf- the deputy before him. I remember once Dogfang told off my mentor, Thornclaw, for being a little tired because he had been injured! I was furious. He acted like he knew everything about our training, and Thornclaw's a great mentor. When really, he knows nothing!" Joypaw lashed her tail, and drew herself to full height. "I will, too," she mewed boldly. "I'll help her. You told off my mentor who had just fought and helped give service to the Clan- and TOLD HIM OFF! Don't act like he's not a great mentor, because you know nothing." Joypaw's fury grew, and she deliberetly relaxed so her neck fur lay flat again. "Do what you want," she meowed. "I don't care."

"I'd rather make sure my apprentices and warriors were doing their duties before I went onto do mine. Isn't that what a deputy is supposed to do?" he growled at her.
His blazing eyes swiveled to Joypaw. Oh great, another little cocky she-cat for me to deal with. . . he thought, rolling his eyes in a glare. "Ha, Fallenleaf didn't know the job of a deputy. He's the reason all of you are all slackers." He narrowed his eyes.
"Little, little Joypaw. You're as foolish as your stupid friend here, Windpaw. I don't think Thornclaw would like it if you got into his business. And you know that I had a reason to 'tell him off'," Dogfang mimicked in a high pitched voice. "Once you become a warrior, if that day will ever come, you'll be even worse than Goldenshard. Your mentor is a pathetic moron who has a brain the size of a bumble bee and the metabolism smaller than a mouse's baby."

Windpaw growls in anger and dig her claws into the soft grass, trying to keep from lunging at Dogfang. "Your so cruel. Why aren't you in BloodClan, that way I would have an excuse to kill you?" She flicks her tail again. "Foolish deputy. One day, I will be strong enough to kill you. Wait till then."

"Fallenleaf knew the job better than you! He didn't call cats names, and he didn't act stuck-up and mean. Maybe I should've stayed dead!" Her last words were whispered.
"At least Thornclaw knows what it's like to be a mentor! He's kind with me, and doesn't get impatient with me at all. He devotes his heart, mind and soul to teaching me. Don't try to underestimate that!!" Joypaw was furious again.

"Yes, you're right. BloodClan would be so much more nicer than this StarClan fore saken Clan." He chuckled at her.
"And yet, I'll still be bigger than you. And guess what. . . You may not even make it to a warrior!" He winked at her. "Get out of my sight, Windpaw, and go hunting! I don't think Whisperstar wants to meet you after I've told you how disrespectful you've been to your deputy. You'll be so sorry if I end up as your mentor. You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
"Joypaw!" he gasped, staring at her with innocent eyes. "I never did that to you! Or Windpaw, or Goldenshard, or Stormheart! How could you say that to me? Do you think Whisperstar would believe that?" The last sentence dripped with venom.
"But you'll still end up as unsuccessful as him. It's depressing, really."

"I'd love that Dogfang. I'd mess up over and over just to make it seem like your a horrible mentor. So please, I'd love to be your apprentice." She spits on the ground at Dogfangs feet and turns to Joypaw. "Want to go hunting with me? I'm sick of talking to idiots."

"So am I," Joypaw agreed. "I'll show you the best places to hunt, away from this- this heap of fox dung," she meowed, flicking her tail and the rotton deputy. "And I know a better mentor for you then Dogfang: Jaykit. Let's go." Joypaw bounded into the forest as fast as she could before she had the chance to turn tail and attack Dogfang straightforwardly.

Windpaw follows easily, using her long legs to catch up quickly, flicking her tail as she ran. Sh was still angry, and she hoped that hunting would help her calm down. "What a piece of fox dung...." She murmurs, talking about Dogfang.

Ha, Dogfang thought, watching them leave. What idiotic apprentices they were! Whisperstar would never believe that Dogfang was a terrible mentor. She'd just think the apprentice was dull in the head and didn't know anything, just like herself. It'd never, ever, be Dogfang's fault. He'd already set up for himself a wonderful spot were no one and nothing could harm him without feeling the wrath of Whisperstar. He felt like a celebrity right at that moment.
I suppose I should tell Whisperstar about the obnoxious flea-pelts, he thought, licking his paw and drawing it over his ears.
He made up his mind to go hunting after grooming himself, deciding that if Goldenshard didn't teach Stormheart a lesson once he got back to them, she'd be punished also. Boy, being the deputy was the life.

"What a horrible piece of fox-dung," Stormheart said to Goldenshard while Dogfang was still within hearing distance. "I wish I could throw him on the Thunderpath, that'd teach him a lesson."

Goldenshard nodded to Stormheart, not caring to lower her voice. "Dogfang may be able to bully apprentices, but a monster would destroy him. No one escapes from the Thunderpath."
Her eyes glinted, and she lifted her head, addressing the Deputy. "And you're a fool if you think you're going to get away with all of this, Dogfang. Whisperstar may trust you, however undeserving you may be, but she's not deaf or blind. She will listen to all sides of the story, and in that aspect, its four against one. Even being Deputy, you can't escape those numbers. And guess what, I'm close to Whisper too, so we'll see who she believes in the end. And even if she somehow does believe you, you'll have all of us and more against you every day." Goldenshard chuckled, and turned to walk away with Storm, Windpaw and Joypaw. "See you back at camp, dear Deputy."

Stormheart walked away, her claws unsheathed. "I'd love to rip a couple of his limbs off, wouldn't you?" She said, her voice lowered now. "He thinks that Whisperstar will always believe him. He's sadly mistaken."

Goldenshard looked back at the Deputy, at Dogfang's smug and angry face. He thinks he's always going to win, will always get things his way. That's how most power-hungry cats are...and look where they end up. Dead and in the Dark Forest. If he keeps this up, he'll never get to StarClan. For a moment, Goldenshard almost pitied Dogfang, but then his eyes stole the feeling away. If what others say is true, he deserves to go there.
"Whisperstar may believe him today, and may believe him tomorrow, but one day she's going to figure out what Dogfang really is. And then he's going to get what he deserves."
