Thistlepelt lay on the outskirts of camp, her glare cutting across the clearing. She was in a foul temper, having been shunned by her sister yet again. Blackrose didn't seem to care about her anymore, she just spent all of her time with the elders and queens these days. Well I don't need her, Thistlepelt thought, narrowing her eyes in disgust. I don't need anyone, they need me that's all. That's why I stay around here. Lifting her head she groaned softly. The prickly heat was so uncomfortable, dragging her in and out of sleep. In fact, Thistlepelt decided, I could have a nice nap with nobody to disturb me....

Silverleaf raised an eyebrow at seeing Thistlepelt practically glare a hole in a tree. She sighed, 'Must someone always be having a temper tantrum?'. Walking into the Queens Den, she looked around for a certain cat and instantly found the lump of fur, "Spottedsun!" Silverleaf smiled and slowly ran over, her energy mostly drained out from being in charge of a lot of the kits. "How are you?" she purred to the younger she-cat, obviously in a good mood.

Windpaw walks up slowly, new to the camp and a bit shy and worried she wouldn't be accepted. She dips her head in greeting to the older warriors in front of her. "Hello. I'm Windpaw." She purrs happily in greeting and shuffles her paws nervously

Spottedsun looked up; she'd been dosing. "Oh, hello, Silverleaf!" she grinned at the sight of her good friend.
She tried to remember the first time she'd met her. . . but nothing came to mind. She frowned to herself. Another lost memory, probably not bound to ever turn up again.
Blinking slowly, she replied, "I've been doing well. Boy, it'll be a relief when these kits are apprentices. I've missed you, Whisperstar, and Goldenshard. A lot. I'll be ready as ever to go out on a patrol with you three anytime!"
Spottedsun's eyes glazed slowly over the older warrior, who was, to the queen's delight, in a very, very good mood. "How about you? I can see you're in a great mood! Has something happened?"
Memories of outside the camp flicked backwards, and she knew for a fact that this didn't involve DeathClan at all. If it did, she would be the first cat who would be extremely annoyed. But, still, DeathClan had been quiet the last few days. . .

Joypaw had been changing the elder's den when she noticed a cat her age introducing herself to older warriors. An apprentice! Her heart leaped with joy of having another apprentice around. She hadn't seen Spottedpaw in a while. Hmm... Windpaw. I like that name. "Hi, Windpaw! My name is Joypaw." Joypaw smiled warmly and the gray tabby she-cat. "Have you gotten a mentor yet? My mentor is Thornclaw, and maybe he'll let us go training together sometime." Joypaw's deep sea-blue eyes glowed with excitement.

Silverleaf gave a long strech and smiled happily, "Its just SUCH a nice day and all, plus I was just sleeping in my favorite tree!" She purred and sat down, letting the kits climb all over her. Silverleaf looked out and saw the new apprentice, instantly smiling again. "Hello! I would come over... but I kinda can't" she laughed and pointed her tail to the five or so kits tackling her. "Im Silverleaf, welcome to the Clan!"

Thistlepelt watched the cats curiously, and eventually this curiosity got the better of her. Strolling over to the other cats, she purred, "Heya Silverleaf, you know Windpaw is right. Your kits are gorgeous, you must be so proud. How are you feeling?" Glancing sideways at the apprentices, she struggled not to laugh at Joypaw's excitement. Was the apprentice ever mad? Thistlepelt couldn't remember a time when she saw her in a foul mood, they seemed to affect warriors more than apprentices. Realising that she had "zoned" as Blackrose would say, Thistlepelt tuned back into her surroundings, careful not to disturb the kits that lay at her paws.

Spottedsun's eyes sparkled at Silverleaf. "I'm very glad. What have you been doing lately?"
Her eyes moved to the apprentice as she moved forward. "Hello, Windpaw, I'm Spottedsun, mother of these three." She smiled at the apprentice and then nodded to Flamekit, Tanglekit, and Shimmerkit. "Silverleaf, let me know if you want them to get off you. They've grown a lot and are very heavy now."
Spottedsun looked up at Thistlepelt. "Hey, Thistlepelt. How are you?" She glanced over at Joypaw a little ways away. "Hey, Joypaw! Over here! Come join the little party!"

Joypaw grinned even wider. "Hi Silverleaf! Hey Thistlepelt! Spottedsun!" She padded over to the cats, her smile stretching when she saw Thsitlepelt's foul mood sink away for a while. She settled herself next to Windpaw, allowing the kits to climb around. Joypaw let out a mrrow of laughter. "They're wonderful kits," she agreed, "Though they can get quite energetic!" Joypaw's wide ocean-blue eyes shone with amusement and happiness. "I remember this one-" she flicked her tail and Shimmerkit and grinned- "taking a swim in the fresh-kill pile once. I think she was devouring a large rabbit!" Joypaw gazed fondly at the three kits, and turned to Windpaw. "I wonder who Whisperstar will assign to be your mentor. Maybe even Goldenshard!" Pride surged through Joypaw now that her friend was a warrior, even though she missed having her in the apprentice's den. She pushed her sudden loneliness away and her cheerful self came back to her. Joypaw's shining blue eyes glowed even more, and right now her name fit her perfectly. Then she noticed Thistlepelt looking at her a moment, but the look in her eyes was a good one, and she purred back at her.
Jaykit bounced over, his piercing green eyes wide with excitement when he saw the new apprentice. He scrabbled on her paw, sniffing it carefully. The sleek kit batted at Joypaw and Windpaw with a small paw, as if testing something about them. Joypaw smiled and placed out her tail, and Jaykit pounced on it and began chasing it as Joypaw lashed it carefully in different directions, laughing happily.

Spottedsun chuckled at Joypaw. "Yes, she was so funny when she came out, drenched in different scents. I couldn't identify her as she came back into the den, and many times before I finally groomed her, I found myself staring at her drooling." She laughed at that.
She turned her head to look at Windpaw. "Yes, Goldenshard was my apprentice. She was wonderful at battle moves and pretty good with hunting. She'd make a great mentor for you."
Spottedsun glanced down at Jaykit as he chased Joypaw's tail. "Hm. . . Jaykit, do you think you'll fall in love with any of my daughters when you're all warriors?" She winked at him playfully.

At that, Joypaw just began laughing out loud, purring too hard to speak. Jaykit just stared at Spottedsun as if she'd sprouted wings, his green eyes so wide Joypaw thought they were bigger then the kit himself. Jaykit grinned at Spottedsun and mewed coolly, "Might. Might not."
Faithsong entered the nursery with fresh-kill just in time to hear Spottedsun's comment, and laughed along with Joypaw. "For you, Spottedsun," she meowed, dropping a squirrel next to her, purring at her kits. "I wonder if I might have kits someday," she told her in her soft, musical voice. Faithsong turned to the new apprentice, her green eyes curious and friendly. "Hello, I'm Faithsong. And you are?" Faithsong smiled at her kindly, and lapped out her tail, welcoming a kit who would like to chase it, while Jaykit was busy pouncing and growling at Joypaw's tail, his green eyes gleeful at the play.

She chuckled. "Well, you're a very handsome kit. I'm sure one of the three of them will fall in love with you."
Spottedsun's mouth stretched into a wide grin at the sight of Faithsong and some fresh kill. "Hello, Faithsong! Oh, thank you so much! It's just what I needed!" She smiled before digging into the squirrel. Faithsong was equally as nice as Joypaw, for sure.
Spottedsun glanced up at her, swallowing a mouthful. "Any tom would be lucky to be the father of your kits. The day will come sooner or later, don't you worry." She thought about her mate, the loner, the image of him vague now. Guilt and regret bubbled at the pits of her heart, and she was thankful that the memory was slipping away. She'd never been certain if that loner was a good or bad cat, but if her kits ever asked. . . he'd be a good father in their eyes.
It pained her to know they missed out on someone to bond with, and she almost wanted to set out and find him so they'd know who he was. But what if they wanted to staty with him? Or what if they hated Spottedsun for choosing him as her mate? She was never going to be sure if it was right to go find him again.

Saidie stepped out of the nursery to get a breath of fresh air. Her kits were taking a nap. She decided to get some food from the fresh kill pile. She haddn't eaten in DAYS! Saidie walked over and picked up a large, juicy, mouse. Saidie carryed it's limp body over to the g]crowd again. She took small, fast bites. It was very tasty and chewy, her favorite! Once saidie finished the mouse, she buried it as she usually do. R.I.P little mouse......
Saidie saw the cats in the center of the clearing. Saidie went to investigate the scene. A newcomer..... good! We need more warriors in our clan ^_^ Saidie got herself in the crowd.
"Greetings." Mewled Saidie very politely. " I'm Saidie, One of the kits here." Saidie blinked slowly and smiled. This cat seemed very nice and kind. She would be a great warrior one day.

Joypaw was still purring, as Jaykit gave a fairly good answer to Spottedsun's question. Joypaw gently flicked the sleek kit with her tail, meowing, "Oh, sure, I bet the she-cats will be drooling when you move into the apprentice's den!" Right now, Joypaw, Windpaw, and Spottedpaw were the only apprentices, all she-cats, and Jaykit was the only tom-kit in the nursery as well. She mewed a greeting to Faithsong as she entered the nursery, her silver pelt reflecting the sunshine, and her green eyes shining as well.
"Oh, thank you, Spottedsun!" Faithsong told her, eyes brimming with gratitude. She blinked affectionately at Flamekit, Shimmerkit, Tanglekit, and Jaykit. Jaykit was looking fairly in a good mood, as the rest of the cats in the "little party" at the moment, even Thistlepelt, who had practially glared a hole in a tree heartbeats ago. His eyes were green, like Faithsong's, and were quite wide, probably at the prospect of having so many tails to chase. Right now, he was growling at Joypaw's tail, which was flicking in different directions, and running after it and trying to nip at it. "Oh, no you don't!" Joypaw purred, withdrawing her tail. "I'd like my tail in one piece, thanks!" Faithsong purred as well, saying, "Well, you can play with mine, Jaykit, as long as it's in one piece!!" She began lashing her tail playfully.
Jaykit was overwhelmed with all the tails free to wrestle. He jumped on Faithsong's tail, rolling over on the ground, and nipped at it. He chased it all over, nearly charging straight into Spottedsun. "Whoops, sorry!" he mewed quickly, nosing the queen before returning to the mad whir of tails and purrs.

Spottedsun smiled back at Faithsong, happy to be of service. "Anytime, Faithsong." She wished that once she got back to the warrior's den, she'd be able to get to know this she-cat. She clearly was worth a friendship like the queen had with Whisperstar or Goldenshard or Silverleaf or Joypaw. It wasn't that common for good cats to turn up like this, but you had to take them while they were there, to put it that way.
She started to compare Faithsong and Joypaw. They were so similar, and sweet as could be. They strived for the best in other's hearts, their life, and their duty to their Clan. Her ears flicked, and she spoke her thoughts to both of the she-cats. "Faithsong, are you sure there's no connection between you and Joypaw? You two are like two peas in a pod, if I may say so. It's amazing you aren't sisters or something like that." She chuckled to them, her eyes glowing.
She'd give anything for a sister, and as Spottedsun glanced lovingly at her three kits, she planned to tell them how lucky they were to have a sister of their own. Sadly, the SoulClan queen couldn't remember if she had siblings or not. MistClan was so long ago. . . and so long away, that the memories of it faded like scents in the forest.
She turned back to Joypaw, and nodded. "I'm sure it'll be true. These little lovies will be all over him. They'll probably be chasing your tail instead of you chasing theirs," she told Jaykit, laughing. The laugh was long and cheery, because it felt good to let that sound out.
She winked it him. "It's fine, sweetheart."

Faithsong grinned at the gray queen, happiness and gratitude dancing in her eyes. Faithsong wanted to get to know Spottedsun better; Spottedsun was the nicest cat in the Clan, faithful and dedicated.
Joypaw and Faithsong both laughed at the same time at Spottedsun's remark at their similarities; though their looks and sound were totally different. Faithsong's voice and laugh was soft and musical, while Joypaw's was louder and bolder, yet clean and joyful. Faithsong was silver with emerald eyes; Joypaw was pale ginger with darker ginger striped, her eyes the same depths of blue as the rolling sea. However, both cats had names which described their personalities, and both their eyes sparkled with contentment most of the time. "Maybe Faithsong's my mother instead of Willowhispersong," Joypaw mewed mischeiveiously, and the two she-cats erupted into laughter again. Joypaw had never been close to her mother; Spottedsun had taken care of her when she came here.
Joypaw wished her sister Honeykit was more active, and was an apprentice like her. She sighed inwardly. But she had plenty of great friends, like Goldenshard, Stormheart, Windpaw, Spottedsun, and so many more. Faithsong was wishing she could have kits soon; She was incredibly gentle with them.
"Better watch your tail, Jaykit! It'll be stomped flat by interested she-cats!" Joypaw's laugh seemed to go on into eternity. Jaykit, however, did not find this funny, or at least, he didn't act like it. He stopped abruptly, and began scrabbling on Faithsong, until he was perched on her shoulder, tail high. "Now no one can get it!" he mewed triumphantly, grinning. Joypaw rolled onto her back laughing, her eyes alight with it.
Jaykit added gleefully, "If no she-cat stomps my tail, I can climb trees like Silverleaf!!"
