Mintpaw slowly took a step back then fell on to her butt. “Damn it!” she screeched. She was daydreaming while hunting and she fell into a pile of mud. “Now I’ll have to go wash off…” she grumbled walking towards a stream.
When she got to the stream she stuck her sticky paw into the water. But instead of mud coming off…it was blood. Soon, the stream was filled with blood. And then suddenly the present became the past. She was standing there watching a replay of the past. And Mistpaw was no longer Mistpaw, but she was Mist.
Mist sneered at the new cat who came. “Heh,” she said. “What’s this kitty-pet doing here?” Mist started circling the kitty-pet. He was a brown and white tabby like herself. “Ummm,” Savannah, her mother had said, “H-he is your father…” Savannah stammered. Mist looked dumb-founded, while Mercury sat helplessly behind their mother. Mercury didn’t care that their father was a kitty-pet, but Mist sure did. She was all about being wild, but now that she knew she was a kitty-pet, her life was destroyed.
Mist got right up into Savannah face and Mercury staggered back. “How long were you going to keep this from me?” she growled. Mist knew that her mother was afraid of her. “I was going to tell you….eventually.” Savannah managed to get out. “Well you know what? Eventually is to late.” Savannah gave one last final look at her mate, Christian, then Mist raked her claws against Savannah throat. Blood squirted out in gushes, soaking Mist’s. Savannah collapsed to the ground.
Mist turned to glance to the kitty-pet, Christian, her father. “You’re next kitty-boy.” she smirked. She took a step toward him and he stepped back. Then he tried to run, but she was too fast. She jumped on his back sinking her claws into his pelt. “How does it feel?” she asked him. “It probably feels like what I felt when I found out that you were my father!” she growled. Then she threw him downward at the ground. And as he staggered to get up, Mist once again raked her claws against his throat. More blood gushed on to her pelt as he fell to the ground.
As Mist staggered back to the place her mother was, she suddenly began to laugh. “So this is what it feels like to kill, huh?” she said out-loud, though talking to herself. “Then I think I’ll kill more!” she saw her mothers calico pelt laying dead on the ground. Her sister Mercury crouching over her. She looked up and Mist saw panic in her eyes. Mercury was so scared, though, that she couldn’t move. “Don’t worry,” Mist smirked at her. “I’m not going to kill you…” she mewed.
Mist walked and walked, her pelt feeling hot and sticky with blood. She soon arrived at a stream. Still laughing manically, she jumped into the stream. It looked like the blood came off of her in gallons. It was moving swiftly down the stream, and soon you could see her beautiful brown and white tabby pelt again. It didn’t even look stained.
Mist walked back to the place where the murders took place. Mercury was still cowering over their mothers dead body. “Mercury, why don’t you leave?” Mercury glanced up at her sister. “Why…?” Was all that Mercury could manage before passing out.
Mist dug two big holes and put the bodies of her dead parents into them. Boy am I tired… she thought. She had only been six moons at the time. And the only reason she could kill her parents was because they knew nothing about fighting at all. But Mist had. She had trained time and time again all by herself. She wanted to be the strongest cat around.
Mist woke up to the sound of footsteps. She opened her eyes and a calico pelt was standing in front of her. Almost an exact replica of her mother. “Mercury, what do you want?” Mist asked. “I-I-I I want you to leave and never come back!” she screamed into Mist’s face. Mist was taken aback. “What?” she growled. “Why?” Mercury calmed down before she answered. “You killed our mother and I’ll never forgive you.” she mewed coldly. “Okay, fine.” Mist began. “If that’s the way it’s going to be, I hope I never cross your path again.” Mist stood up and started walking away. “Goodbye, Mist…I will always love you.” Mist heard Mercury whisper. And, goodbye to you, too. You’re lucky I didn’t kill you… she thought.
Then she came back to reality, no longer playing with the last two moons of her life, but she was laying in a huge pile of mud. Wow, she thought, It’s hard to believe it’s only been two moons… and it’s also had to believe I passed out. It must be this heat.
“Now, where is Shattergaze?” she said. “I’m ready to do some battle training.”
