Mintpaw sprinted through DeathClan territory. She loved the way the wind ruffled her fur and made her feel like she was soaring through the air. She had never had this much joy before. She scented the air. Maybe I should catch some prey before going back to camp… she thought. She got into the hunters’ crouch when she scented a mouse near by. She looked around silently hoping not to disturb it. She finally spotted it and crept forward silently. She jumped swiftly into the air landing spot on the mouse and nipping it’s neck. Since she had been living by herself almost all of her life, she had learned to become a good hunter. She buried her prey and went on searching for more.
She silently entered the camp and dropped her prey on the fresh-kill pile. She looked around. Not a soul seemed to be in camp. So she decided to go back into the forest. She wanted to take one last run before it became to late.
As she was running, she was thinking about her life in the Clan. She knew she didn’t fit in. Yes, she had just as much blood-lust as the rest of them, but she was an outsider. She was different. She spent most of her time sprinting through the forest and hunting for prey, and not planning on attacking cats from SoulClan, or bothersome rouges, loners, or kitty-pets. Though, on occasions, she did just that. But it was rare. And she blamed all of her faults on her mother. She despised her mother, and her father, too. That is why she had killed them both, and that is how she found out that she enjoyed killing. Feeling the blood soak her paws. And watching the freight on other cats faces as she did it. That is why she had joined this Clan. They also loved killing, but yet…she just didn’t belong. She sighed and started walking getting further and further away from camp until the moon was at its highest. “I guess it’s time to go back to camp…” she said to herself and started sprinting toward the place she now called home. ------------------------------------- Word Count: 375(My best post so far X3)

(Hey do you have a mentor?)
Shattergaze was padding through camp. She had just returned with some more fresh-kill, leaving her three mice and a pheasant in the pile of prey. We must all be strong and well fed...no telling when an attack might come, or we have to fight. The ready cats are the ones who will always prevail. Shattergaze was always planning ahead, always thinking about what battle would come next, what move an enemy might use, or which cat she wanted to die next. It was just in her nature: she was a DeathClan cat to the core, always had been, always would be. She held no sympathy for others, no mercy for the weak. They would all be exterminated, they should all be exterminated.
As she head back out of camp into the forest, she scented a DeathClan apprentice not far off. Changing direction, she padded easily to where the cat was, and spotting her, saw it was Mintpaw. The apprentice had always been a little distant, not quite like the others. Maybe it was just because Shattergaze didn't know her as well. Walking up, she greeted the cat. "Hello, Mintpaw. What are you doing out here so late?"

((Nope not yet^^))
“Oh…” she said seeming a little surprised. “I was just taking a walk, Shattergaze… Am I in trouble?” she asked. I hope I’m not in trouble… she thought. I wonder if leaders and deputys punish apprentices for being out late at night. Since Mintpaw was new to the Clan, she didn’t know many of there laws. This is probably what most apprentices go through when they’re new…she thought. Isn’t it? --------------------- Word Count: 88(Sorry not my pet -_-')

Shattergaze studied the apprentice. She was out doing something productive, so Shattergaze couldn't blame her for that. And as long as she hadn't done anything stupid, it was fine that she was doing some late night hunting. "No, Mintpaw, you aren't in trouble. Unless you've done something wrong, but it doesn't look like you have. She looked at Mintpaw again. She was new, one of the many cats who had joined the Clan in the past few weeks. Does she have a mentor? I don't think so... "Mintpaw, you don't have a mentor, do you?" Shattergaze said. She would need to talk to Darkstar about this.

“No… I don’t yet. Darkstar hasn’t assigned me one yet.” she mewed. She had wanted a mentor really bad because she wanted to get out of camp more. But without a mentor she couldn’t battle train or go out hunting in groups. Only by herself. Wait…she thought. Does Shattergaze have an apprentice yet? She was getting hopeful. Maybe Darkstar will assign Shattergaze to be my mentor!she thought enthusiastically. ---------------- Word Count: 82(It's hard to post 100 words -_-')

Shattergaze nodded. It was as she thought. Things had been so busy lately, with the attack on SoulClan planned tomorrow, and all the patrols and such going on. She would have to remind him to get a mentor for Mintpaw. She knew it was hard for apprentices to do much on their own. Battle training was a huge part of becoming a warrior, and without a mentor, it couldn't be done.
Shattergaze smiled a bit as she saw the excited gleam in Mintpaw's eye. She would be a good apprentice, I think. But I still have Whitepaw, even though she is getting closer to becoming a warrior. "I'll remind Darkstar about your mentor, Mintpaw. But until he assigns you one, you could come train with Whitepaw and I. There aren't many apprentices to train with, and it would be good practice for both of you."

She nodded. “I would love that!” Yes! she thought. Until I get my mentor, I will get to train with the deputy! She was so happy she would finally get to start training! But then she realized that it was nighttime. Do apprentices train at night? she wondered. She had so many questions to ask. But, she decided not to ask. “May we start training right now, Shattergaze?” she asked. She hoped the answer would be ‘yes’. She really wanted to train. She had waited all of her life to be the best and strongest cat. And now her wish was finally coming true. ---------------------------------- Word Count: 113

Whitepaw's ears twitched in concentration. A little mocking bird was fluttering around it's one-branch nest, adding on to it with each trip. Smirking, Whitepaw went paw by paw, crouched low to the ground.
She bended around each twig and leaf she could find, creating as little noise as possible. Narrowing her eyes, she went into battle stance, about to leap.
Suddenly, she broke out her claws outstretched and leaning for the annoying little bird. She snagged her neck easily, cracking it with a simple swipe of her paw. Smiling she buried it into the dirt, close to where Mintpaw and Shattergaze stood.
The wind changed it's direction without warning, leaving her upwind. The scent of her mentor Shattergaze, and a very new apprentice, Mintpaw caught her nose's attention. Craning her neck, she struggled to hear what they said. ''You can come train with Whitepaw and I." Shattergaze had said, her voice drifting with the wind. "I would love that!" Mintpaw squealed. Whitepaw scowled.
Mintpaw was just one other cat she could torment. And she'd have extra time by training with her, even though Whitepaw was near her warrior ceremony. Shrugging, she strode towards the pair calmly. "Why I'd love to train with Mintpaw!" She exclaimed, hints of sarcasm found in her voice. She glanced at the brown and white tabby and forced a smile. "Please Shattergaze, may we train now?" She begged.

So this is Whitepaw? she thought. She had heard the sarcasm and knew that her and Whitepaw weren’t going to get along. But she was going to enjoy battle training with her. But then again, Whitepaw was the size of a warrior, and Mintpaw was just the size of a new apprentice. But she was strong of her age. Living by yourself can do that to you. “Please?” Mintpaw asked one more time. She couldn’t wait to start. ------------------- Word Count: 85 (-_-')

Shattergaze watched as Whitepaw landed beside her and studied Mintpaw, giving the new apprentice a sarcastic remark. Interesting...this could be good motivation for both of their training. This could work well. A little competition only makes for better warriors.
Icy eyes looking at the two apprentices, she half smiled and her eyes glinted as they both asked her to train. "Well," she said, studying them, "If you both insist." Mintpaw was eager to work, and Whitepaw looked as if she wanted to continue to prove herself as a valuable DeathClan cat. Good. Glancing around, Shattergaze saw that they were in a large enough clearing to work with. Sitting down, she wrapped her tail around her legs.
"Mintpaw, before I begin to train you and you may spar with Whitepaw, there is something every DeathClan cat must learn." She met eyes with the apprentice, eyes hard and serious. "This lesson I have taught to Whitepaw, and she has learnt it very well. I learned it myself when I was apprenticed under Tanglestar. The lesson is this: pain is nothing." Her icy eyes shone. "Even in the face of death, when you lay covered in wounds and blood, you must always ignore the pain, or you will always lose." She looked over to Whitepaw and half-grinned. "Right Whitepaw?"

Whitepaw could feel both gazes on her for a minute until they turned somewhere else. Her expression showed she was going to fight Mintpaw and win, being a valuable DeathClan warrior. So of course, Shattergaze would notice that. And Mintpaw probably was just looking over her, determining how to fight.
As Shattergaze repeated the words she'd said the first session she's had with her, memories crashed over her. Starlingpelt, all her failed attempts at even scratching Shattergaze, and everything in between. As her mentor came up to the 'pain is nothing' stretch, Whitepaw smiled slyly. "That is absolutely true, Shattergaze." Whitepaw agreed.

Shattergaze watched Whitepaw's reaction. The apprentice's eyes flashed. Whitepaw wants to beat Mintpaw...no, she wants to demolish Mintpaw. She wants to beat her the way a warrior would. Looking over how far Whitepaw had come, in that moment Shattergaze knew that if she really wanted to, Whitepaw could do it. She is ready to become a warrior. After the attack on SoulClan, I'll need to talk to Darkstar.
Her thoughts turned back to when she had first trained with Whitepaw. Back then, Whitepaw had hardly been able to scratch Shattergaze. I have a feeling it would be slightly a more even fight now. Her eyes turned to Mintpaw. I hope Mintpaw is ready. Whitepaw won't hold anything back, just like a true DeathClan cat.
Shattergaze nodded at Whitepaw's response. "You have learned it well."

Whitepaw sat down and curled her tail over her paws. Her eyes flashed once more as she looked over Mintpaw. She was of course smaller then Whitepaw, but she looked like a tough fighter. This would be an even match.
Whitepaw turned her gaze back to her mentor. She returned the nod. "Thank you." She replied calmly, but inside, it was an amazing compliment.
Whitepaw's ear twitched impatiently. "Can we start, Shattergaze?" Whitepaw said suddenly slightly annoyed they hadn't started sooner. She wanted to be both ready for the fight that was going to rage on tonight and beat Mintpaw in their little battle session.

Shattergaze gave Whitepaw a half-smile. Despite the mistakes Whitepaw had made, how her loyalty had once wavered between friendship and her Clan, Shattergaze couldn't help but be proud of how far her apprentice had come. She was going to be a great warrior, and Shattergaze knew that.
She chuckled as Whitepaw impatiently asked to start. "Yes, we will start." She turned her gaze to Mintpaw. "Mintpaw, in DeathClan we train, spar, and practice with claws out. We never hold back, and we always fight to kill. Now," she laughed, "I would like to keep both of you alive. You are the only two apprentices we have, so we don't need you to kill each other. So please don't bite into any jugulars or snap any necks. But besides that, anything and everything is fair game."
She stepped back from between the two cats and sat, curling her tail around her paws. "Mintpaw, I will give you advice as you fight since you are fighting a more seasoned opponent. And Whitepaw, I of course will be watching you. But besides that, this is a fight between you two. Now," she grinned, "you may begin."

Mintpaw unseathed her claws and stepped towards Whitepaw. This would be her first fight living within DeathClan. She prepared for the worst and knew that she was going to get injured. Whitepaw was more than two times bigger than her because she was only a new apprentice.

Whitepaw smirked. "I guess I'll attack first." She sighed. Whitepaw, who's claws were sheathed, took no time the unsheathe them and lunge. She paws outstretched, she scorched Mintpaw's face, blood flying from her head. She landed on her paws perfectly and proceed to attack more. She leapt at the other apprentice, aiming her her back.

Mintpaw staggered to the side, blood woozing from the scractches on her face. She turned around to face Whitepaw and lunged forward at her, not waiting again to get attacked.

Whitepaw barley dodged Mintpaw's claws. It grazed her pelt, a stinging pain suddenly going through her body. She of course ignored it. Number 1 rule. She growled, pinned back her ears, and slashed her claws at Mintpaw's pelt.

Mintpaw felt the claws scratch into her pelt, but she also ignored it. She attacked again trying to hit the top of Whitepaw's back. She knew she was going to loose this fight, but nothing was going to stop her from trying.
