Scarheart ventured out the DeathClan camp, and into the pine woodlands. Scufflings of prey were everywhere in newleaf, promising full bellies for the Clan. As long as those Soulcats kept away, espicially that loner. What was her name? Storm- Storm something. Stormheart! Scarheart was sorry he'd missed her death as Stormpaw, and he also missed it when she killed Heartkit and Joypaw. He'd heard Joypaw was reincarnated, sadly. Some cats just need to stay dead- and he knew DeathClan would make sure that ginger apprentice stayed dead next time. Scarheart smiled. Looks like he now has a task. Scarheart decided to stop ignoring the prey and began stalking a squirrel. Soon it was hanging limp in his jaws. He continued his hunt, and after a while he'd scraped earth over another squirrel and a mouse. Okay, time to go home. I've got fat prey and a target for death-what else do I need? His dark heart welling up with his own "joy", Scarheart began walking back to camp, collecting the prey. Watch out, Soulcats, your "souls" will be ours. You shall fall.

Shattergaze was returning from a patrol when she saw Scarheart padding back into camp, prey dead in his jaws. She changed her course to pad over to him. He had always been a solid, evil cat, feeling the thrill of a kill the same as she did. It was always a good quality to have when you were a DeathClan cat. As she came to his side, she nodded to the prey in his mouth. "Good kills." Then she looked at his face, seeing the look in his eyes and guessing what he was thinking, she grinned. "But are you thinking of killing something else?"

"Thanks, and yes." Scarheart grinned a grin so evil it sent shivers down one's spine. "Remember that stupid, ginger-striped apprentice, Joypaw?" Scarheart hated that name- too Soul-ish for his liking. Same with that warrior, Faithsong. "I think she should've stayed dead- same with that loner, Stormheart. Don't you?" Scarheart already knew the answer- yes. Shattergaze always found "joy" in killing SoulClan cats and seeing their life-giving blood slip from their bodies. He remembered the trap she'd set for Flamestar, taking away every life, and how'd she'd taken a life from Whisperstar and killed the deputy, Fallenleaf, in one day. Ha- that'll show you Soulcats who's going to fall.

Shattergaze nodded in agreement. She thought the exact same thing as Scarheart did. Those SoulCats had that annoying ability to never actually die...it was unbelievable. Once you rip out a cat's throat, it should stay dead for good. "I agree. The next time we meet SoulClan in battle, we must make it a priority to make sure those two die and stay dead." She scowled. "They didn't deserve to live in the first place, and sure don't deserve a second life. If they keep coming back to life, it'll give us a bad reputation." A sneering grin crawled onto her face, eyes blazing. "We'll just have to kill more next time." Shattergaze had killed many powerful cats, and the thrill was incredible. There was nothing she enjoyed more than the feeling of blood between her claws, and at Scarheart's evil smile, she could feel her felt the same way. "SoulClan will fall to us...it's only a matter of time."

Scarheart nodded. "Good." He watched Shattergaze scowl, and then she put on a sneering grin. "How do they not stay dead in the first place?" he wondered aloud. "They keep coming back to life... and where did that stupid apprentice come from anyway? She wasn't born here; I know that much." Scarheart was kind of glad she came: She'd be an easy target, and best of all, her mentor was Thornclaw, and he'd go insane when she died- again- and stayed dead for good. The evil grin grew wider. "I say we can start a little border skirmish, or simply attack them when we see them." The second idea was better; they had the advantage of surprise.

At Scarheart's question, Shattergaze shook her head and scowled. "I'm not entirely sure...they worship StarClan like no other, but when other cats die they stay dead. Like Flamestar." She grinned, then fell back into a snarl. "I don't know, but if it keeps happening something will have to be done."
Then Scarheart threw out the idea of a battle at the border. Shattergaze grinned. It had been awhile since they had fought...it would be nice practice. And who knew? Maybe Stormheart or Jowpaw would be there. "You know Scarheart, I like how you think. The very evil essence of a DeathClan cat." She narrowed her eyes, thinking. "We can pass by camp and see if anyone else would care to join us," she snickered, "and then we can go the the SoulClan border. They are always patrolling, we're sure to see some cats. And then, like you said," her eyes shone in anticipation, "we just attack out of nowhere."

Deathclaw strode over to Shattergaze and Scarheart. "Did I hear about a surprise attack on SoulClan?" He asked. His green eyes flickered with excitement, and his long fangs shown as his lips curled into a smirk. He absolutely despised SoulClan- all of the goodness, kindness, love, it made him want to puke. Especially since whenever they did seem to kill them off, they would always be reincarnated somehow. It wasn't fair that they would be given life after life, they didn't even deserve the one they had. One day he would have to find out their secret, it wasn't something that would happen by chance. But for now he would keep killing them, enjoying the blood on his paws.

Shattergaze turned and grinned at Deathclaw. "You did indeed, Deathclaw. Scarheart and I were thinking of heading over to the SoulClan border for a surprise attack. As you know, its been much too long since we've met them in battle. They could do with a few less cats among their ranks, and I think we all need some blood on our paws." She laughed, eyes shining. "You in?" Of course, Shattergaze already knew the answer, but it was always polite to ask just in case. Every and any DeathClan cat jumped at the chance to tear into SoulClan flesh.

"Of course," Deathclaw grinned. "It has been awhile since one of them has been killed, hasn't it? My paws are too dry for my taste." His green eyes flickered with amusement, and his tail twitched with anticipation. The last time he had fought with SoulClan it had been when his sister, Bloodheart, betrayed DeathClan for a SoulClan apprentice named Stormpaw. Stormpaw had died anyway, but had been reincarnated, and was now a warrior named Stormheart. It was something he would never understand, how they reincarnated. Why should love and kindness be rewarded, when all he wanted to do when he thought about it was puke? Realizing he'd zoned out for a minute, Deathclaw sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws. "So, when should we attack?" He asked.

Scarheart grinned with satisfication. "Like Shattergaze said, they're always patrolling, so we could catch them soon. I can't wait to see how crushed they're going to be when Joypaw and Stormheart die for good. It ought to be good." All Soulcats were kind and good- but Scarheart had a feeling the new deputy Dogfang wasn't very much like the rest. As for the rest of them, their personalities made Scarheart want to vomit. Why should it be repaid? Stormheart was a traitor, and Joypaw wasn't even born in SoulClan. Scarheart pushed these thought aside for now; he wanted to figure out when to attack. "Maybe we could attack them on a border patrol. We could just keep behind them, downwind so they can't scent us, and sneak up on them." It seemed pretty good, but Shattergaze and Deathclaw would have to approve.

Truthfur saw Shattergaze and Deathclaw both chatting with Scarheart. Truthfur had just got done with killing a rabit north of camp. She changed her route and slowly pawed over to them, her paws made a mushy noice from the wet soil, "Scarheart, i heard about a battle?" Truthfur's eyes grew with excitment as she purred softly. Looking at the other cats her eyes twinkled at the thought.

Blackdeath - Fierce and Unbearable
"What's this I hear about a battle or fight?" came a voice from behind the four cats.
The voice belonged to Blackdeath. He stepped up so he was standing beside Shattergaze and Scarheart. He had his white ears pricked to his highest point, not wanting to miss a word either cat said. He only glanced at Deathclaw and Truthfur, more or less paying attention to Shattergaze. She was deputy, so she would surely know everything.
"No one told me about a battle." He meowed, blinking his blue orbs at the two cats. The light caramel tom's whiskers twitched as if he were hurt. It had been awhile since he had fought or taken place in a fight with a couple SoulCats, he was eager to let forth all his stress and anger in battle. Fighting seemed to be the best time in which to do so, and he was somewhat mad he hadn't hear of an attack.
He stood there as Deathclaw said, "I can't wait to see how crushed they're going to be when Joypaw and Stormheart die for good. It ought to be good."
Ah. So that was who their target was. Those stupid she-cats. Psh. He would rather go for the leader's or deputy's throat. Dogfang was an exception, he seemed to have DeathClan quality, but as for Whisperstar and Spottedsun and the rest of those goody-cats, his dearest dream and wish were to see them dead and lying on the rain-soaked ground, the last of their lives slowly seeping and the light in their eyes fading slowly...
What a vivid and remarkable dream that was. If only, it were to come true. Maybe, if they had the chance...hm.
"What if, we do attack them by patrol and try to kill them off. And then head for the camp. I am suspecting that Stormheart is still being watched. It would be harder to get to Joypaw and Whisperstar, but I am sure we would manage." he smirked, unsheathing his claws. "We'll manage just perfectly." Shattergaze saw Truthfur and Blackdeath pad up, and nodded. "Yes. Scarheart, Blackclaw and I were planning a surprise attack on a SoulClan patrol. And you haven't missed much, Blackdeath, we've only just begun to plan it." Shattergaze turned to Scarheart. "That is a good idea...they are always patrolling their borders. We have more than enough cats to take them down easily." She mulled over Blackdeath's proposal also. "We will kill any and all we see. Leave none alive if you can." Her icy eyes gazed off into the distance towards the SoulClan border. "Depending on how the battle goes, we may have the chance to push on to the SoulClan camp." Eyeing her Clanmates, she said, "We may or may not attack the SoulClan camp, but be ready if we do. And if any of you see Joypaw or Stormheart," a grin twisted onto her face, "take them out. Even if they are only minor threats, we need to send a message. That no cat can escape the fate that DeathClan decides for them."

Truthfur's pelt bristled as she saw Blackdeath. She eagerly hushed " You're very right Shattergaze we must fight, but we need to train. We cannot lower our chances of loosing" She eyed Deathclaw. "Our young warriors will want to fight, we cannot have anymore members of our clan killed." She went quite thinking about it. her ears perked up at a thought.
We should attack at night, when they are sleeping. At night! Perfect, Truthfur thought, She was needing to sink her claws into something else besides prey. A suprise attack, when the moon was at the center of the sky. She felt hopeful that Shattergaze would like her plan.
"Shattergaze?" She purred softly. "We should attack at night, when they are sleeping." An evil expression struck Truthfur. "That would be a suprise."

Shattergaze listened to Truthfur, and her request that they keep up their training. "Truthfur, I assure you that our warriors are highly trained." Her eyes were hard. "Unlike the soft SoulClan, we are always ready for a battle. Even our apprentices could take down a SoulClan warrior. Besides," she laughed. "We aren't the ones who keep dying. SoulClan is. They've lost...how many is it now? Flamestar, Fallenleaf, Heartkit and Spiritkit. We've also killed Stormheart and Joypaw. DeathClan isn't the one who needs to worry over dead cats."
Then her eyes lightened, thinking over the idea that Truthfur presented. "A night attack would be ideal...how about this. We go with the ambush of the patrol during the night, and then if the opportunity presents itself, we also attack their camp while the SoulCats are asleep." She laughed, thrilled at the prospect. "That would be quite a days work."

Blackdeath - Fierce and Unbearable
Blackdeath silently laughed. So, the rumor was true. DeathClan really had begun to accept rouges such as Truthfur. No worries though, it seemed. She seemed to also have the potentionn and quality of a DeathClan warrior, always thinking about death. Then again, that was how that mangy she-cat Stormheart had started and look at where it got them now.
He blinked at the she-cats, maybe Darkstar or some other tom would get involved. Sure, she-cats seemed to be more efficant in battle though, when they had a target locked, they didn't stop till that one target was down and out, that was the way all DeathClan cats were, but it would be nice of Darkstar got into a fight once in a while.
After what Shattergaze had said, Blackdeath's ears had gone down but now they were up when Truthfur mentioned attacking by night. That seemed to be the best attack strategy, considering all but a couple SoulCats would be awake around the time they were planning to attack. When the moon reached the middle of the sky, the stars dying out. Perfect. No StarClan would be around to save them then, he grinned. It was all in the plan. Truthfur silently sighed and blinked. She looked at Shattergaze, wondering how wise of a she cat she was. If my idea works, She thought. I might get more respect and maybe be treated at a higher rank. I hope and i wish that we win. I hope the leaders die quickly and a unsmart tom will take her place.
Truthfur laughed. "I should not worry. Our warriors are smart and i hope loyal. Soulclan are always worried about telling stories to new cats. When they should think about a battle." Truthfur's eyes danced to Blackdeath, who quitely listened. She rolled her blue eyes at the quite tom. "Shattergaze when will this attack take place? 2 moons?" Truthfurs voice seemed to get high pitched.
Suddenly she looked back at the moist ground, a slight shiver ran down her spine. She thought about death. Would if i die? Her silent thoughts began to scare her. Would if we loose. Would if my idea fails. Her eyes buldged.

"A nighttime attack? That's perfect! The advantange of surprise and drowsiness, and we could get more cats dead than if we just attack a patrol. Nice thinking, Truthfur!" Scarheart's amber eyes glittered with determination. "I heard they've got a new member, Smokeheart or something. This ought to be very interesting." Scarheart's claws itched with the longing to sink them into SoulClan flesh, their blood on his paws as he aimed his death blow. His whiskers twitched, impatient to be off. Then he heard Truthfur's question, her voice getting high-pitched. Scarheart cocked his head in confusion, and mewed drily, "Not two moons, one moon, half or quarter moon, but soon. I think all of us here are strong enough to go soon, we should just confirm and clarify everything, get it all planned out perfectly, and make sure we don't leave until some Soulcat is lying on the ground dead." Scarheart pictured the SoulClan camp, peaceful, no cat expecting an ambush, the five DeathClan cats creeping in, and then BOOM! Battle strikes. Scarheart sat down, and gave his chest fur a few licks. "That is a good question, though. When should we do it?" Scarheart turned to Shattergaze. Everything was up to her; everyone else's job was to throw ideas.
On the SoulClan border... Faithsong was hunting. Strong thrush scent waved in the air, and soon she saw it, pecking at fallen seeds. She dropped into a hunter's crouch, stalked it, keeping her balance and tail low. She pounced and quickly killed it with a swift bite to its neck. It was a warm greenleaf day, too warm to be honest. Faithsong scraped the dry earth over the thrush, giving thanks to StarClan for its life and throwing in a prayer for a good rain soon. The sky was an endless stretch of blue today, broke by few wisps of clouds. With such pleasurable weather excluding the temperature, Faithsong was completely unaware of the danger lurking on the other side of the border, where a cruel attack was being planned. Faithsong had always wondered what it was about murder that gave Deathcats so much happiness- Faithsong herself could never stand the sight of thick battle and cats dying around her. But now, DeathClan was the last thing on her mind as she continued her plentiful and successful hunt, all senses alert for scufflings of prey. She went closer to the border, realizing where she was when the DeathClan reek surrounded her. Faithsong wrinkled her nose. I don't know how cats stand the smell at Gatherings, she thought. Ugh. -- Word Count- 444 Notes- One of my longest posts!

"Two moons? No, we can't wait that long." Shattergaze said, thinking it over. "There hasn't been an attack by either side in a long while, and if we hold this off too long, SoulClan could attack first, and we can't have that." There was no way Shattergaze was going to let those weak SoulCats get the first blow in before DeathClan did. It would ruin their entire plan.
"A nighttime ambush of their camp would catch them completely off guard. We could kill countless numbers of their cats. The plan is just...delicious." Truthfur had presented a great idea, and Shattergaze wanted to go with it. Her claws instinctively flexed out, digging furrows into the earth. She was itching to fight, wanted blood on her paws right now, but no matter how much she wanted to attack the SoulClan camp right then, it would be an unwise decision.
"Regardless, we need to have a quick check with Darkstar. I know he'll go for it," she grinned, "but he must be notified. And I'm sure he'd love to come along." Thoughts racing through her head, Shattergaze paced a bit. "The sooner we attack, the better. Less of a chance of SoulClan getting a whiff of our plans. We can go back to camp, tell Darkstar, plan out our ambush to the letter, and recruit any other DeathClan cats who want to come along. As for the day," Shattergaze snickered, "anyone up for tomorrow night?"

Deathclaw sheathed and unsheathed his claws in excitement. A fight with those SoulClan cats, and at night, to top it off. When they wouldn't be expecting it, and none of them would know until the DeathClan's cat's claws were half-way into their throat. He could imagine it now; the DeathClan cats quietly sneaking into the unaware SoulCat camp, the shrieks of terror as they were ripped apart one by one. He quivered with joy and anticipation. He had been waiting anxiously for a fight with those SoulCat's, and here was his chance. SoulClan will fall, he thought.
