This is how I've been feeling lately...
Steady Tears
Deep down inside, my heart is breaking,
Deep down inside, my strength is waning,
Up on the surface, steady tears roll down my cheek,
Up on the surface, my eyes grow red and my face looks bleak.
In my dreams, my hopes are shattering,
In the real world, my faith is shaking,
Down from the sky, the rain is acid,
And out of sight, more tears are shed,
So I am never going to dance again,
No more joy in the steady steps like it had been,
So I am never going to sing again,
No more truth in the steady notes like it had been,
The stars in the night seem to far away,
The sun holds no more brightness in the day,
Every grin I fake just isn't real,
Every wound I have just won't heal,
But don't say, "The brightness ain't worth fighting for,"
Because there's really nothing I want more,
Than to soak up the music and the light,
And touch the stars in the dark night.
