Tangletail paced back and forth waiting for her "fashonable late" friend. She sighed, looking up at the last four stars in the black sky. The moon was out, but the usual light wasn't there. It was a dull gray. She narrowed her eyes at the bushes as she heard the light pawsteps from Flameshadow.

"I'm here."
Out of the bushes, Flameshadow came, her green eyes were glowing in the dark. She looked overhead, it was a quarter moon. She looked back at Tangletail, her fur bristling and brushed out to keep out the cold wind blowing.
"To the Moonpool we go." She mewed quietly.

Races in the oppisate direction from the two cats, chacing a rabbet. Pounces and makes the kill. Picks the rabbet up, her eyes shing with pride. Trots happly to camp.

Tangletail nodded curtly, rising to her paws. She whipped her head around, a slight whimper escaping her. It was - obviously - from fear. She shuttered at her pity. She shook her head, trying to get it out of her mind.
"Come on." She simply meowed, still wondering what this Twisted Fire was all about.

Flameshadow padded beside the SoulClan Medicine Cat, her mind wandering.
What could this all mean...? she asked herself, not paying attention.
"Tangletail..." Flameshadow mewed after a bit of walking. "Have you really given the prophecy some thought?" She asked. "Have you...oh, I don't know, had any thoughts about it?"
She glanced at her hesiately, not sure if she could continue. When the medicine cat stayed silent and also deep in thought, Flameshadow grew silent.
...she's probably frustrated, that's all. I mean, what medicne cat wouldn't be fustrated at a time like this...?

Tangletail finally turned to her.
"Yes. I have thought about it." She sighed. "I just can't think of a reason for all of this happening, and better yet, who is this prophecy about?" She meowed, turning her gaze back up to the last four stars. She looked over at Flameshadow who had just noticed the losses to the sky.
"Thunderstar, Shadowstar, Windstar, and Riverstar." She meowed softly. "They're all watching over us. They want to help, but they're just as dumbfounded as us." She sighed again.

"But didn't they give you the prophecy?" She asked, clearly confused.
Flameshadow's ears twitched. She stood there, frowning for a moment, then she smiled. "But hey...the great Firestar didn't know what the prophecy about him meant until he was made into leader, after the great Bluestar died." She reminded Tangletail.
"And don't forget about Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze. They didn't find out till they were apprentices...at such young ages, too."

Tangletail tried to smile but failed. Suddenly, a heat wave washed over her, making her pant.
"What's that?" She meowed. It felt like fire, even though she saw no smoke. "Any ideas?" She added, the heat still washing over her. She suddenly wanted it to be Leaf-Bare, if only for a moment.

Tangletail took a step foward and all of a sudden a tornadow of leaves appeared in front of her, and the emerald green eyes of a cat appeared out of absolutly nowhere.
She gasped as the cat started to take shape. It looked exactly like her, the fur was even the same. The only thing diffrent was that there was roots and plants wound up and her fur, and the body looked more of a spirit than something solid. She took a pace foward, as well as her copy.
What is this? She wanted to scream, but her yelp was stuck as a lump in her throat.
"Who...Who are you?" Was all she could manage to say, and even that came out in a raspy whisper.

Flameshadow let out a gasp as an image of herself also appeared in front of her, just as Tangletail's had.
"What is this...?" She whispered. The cat-like form looked at her. It had blue eyes, and its fur was on flames, its blue were penetrating. And they were like deep lakes on a hot day.
"What's going on...?" Flameshadow muttered, backing away and running into the figure of Tangletail.
She let out a yelp as she fell right through it. "Who are you guys?"
"Why are you here?!"

The Tangletail mirage started speaking in sync with the Flameshadow mirage.
"We are the ones who shall prevail..." They meowed at the same time making them both jump. Tangletail gulped, her heart racing.
"I am the twisted..." The image of Tangletail whispered. "And I am the fire..." The image of Flameshadow whispered.
"Together, we are the twisted fire. You are to be us." The said in sync again. The Tangletail one stepped in front of her.
She leaned down and touched her nose to Tangletail's fur. She disolved into Tangletail, making her feel an overwhelming sense of power.

The same thing happened with Flameshadow, as the image walked into her, she let out a gasp. "Tangletail?" She asked after a moment. She was now panting, her fur felt heavy, and she fell to the ground. "What happened?"

Tangletail fought to stay up. It felt as if she was carrying another whole cat around on her back. She eventually forced herself to her paws with extreme effort.
Her eyes glowed a deep green, the green of the grass and the leaves mixed together.
"The twisted." She meowed softly.

Tangletail let out a furious hiss, not out of anger, but out of power. Her fangs bared in the dull moonlight, and her eyes glowed a furious dark green. She unsheathed her claws and they looked exactly like thorns from a rosebush. She whipped her head back and let out a wail. The trees seemed to dance with her in tone, and the plants whipped around her like a savage beast.
The leaves all around fluttered in the air just like the mirage of herself had did. They created a tornado, the trees cheering them on. She leapt on to the tree that was waving over her head. She unsheathed her long claws and clawed through the branch with newly found ease. She now dead branch fell to the ground, as well as her. She landed swiftly, her back arched, ready for anything.

Flameshadow also smirked and grinned, and suddenly her pelt bursted into flames.
She grinned. "This is awesome..." She purred.
She looked down at her paws, that were now on flames and spitting out fire. She smiled as a burst of flame came off her pelt, and fell onto the ground, it bursted into flames but somehow Flameshadow managed to control it and it soon enough slithered out.
"Wow..."
Flameshadow looked around, wondering what else she could do, but that would all come in time.
"What should we do with these powers?" Flameshadow asked.

Tangletail sat down, weeds and roots wrapping around her fur, but she looked comfortable.
"Help with the never ending battle...whatever that may be..." She sighed, then remembered their purpose for coming out here in the first place.

~sits near by her eyes flashing silver in the dull moonlight~mutters to her self~"to think they dont know how the power will destr....."she breaks off when they approach~ Dont pretend to look up to firestar you killed him! TWICE!
