THIS THREAD IS ONLY RESERVED FOR JOYSONG AND SPOTTEDSUN. It's okay if you read it, and we'd actually appreciate it if you did, but please no posting in it. I'm sorry didn't put that in the subject. :]
Spottedsun trudged through the territory, her tail slapping at the bushes scaring off prey and dragging in the dust, her head hung low. Cats had always told her that forgiveness was the strongest feeling, but right now grief and regret flooded her eyes. If she could cry, the tears would wash away every living cat in SoulClan and DeathClan. She could only hope that this cat would forgive her.
This secret, this was the secret she hadn't thought about in so, so many moons, maybe since she'd became a warrior. Was that a good idea? It hadn't burned the edges of her mind for a long time. But this was so much pain--the dreaded pain of letting go, not sure if she would ever see her kits again. But, this one kit in particular, had they survived? Were they a warrior in this Clan? How could they have gotten here? Her gaze dragged through the sky, the trees, the ground, her paws; anything they could use to distract themselves from the battle raging in her heart.

Joysong was hunting, but wasn't having much luck. Something out there was scaring off all the prey and making her cross. Her eyes glittered with annoyance as yet another piece of prey scampered off despite her stealthy approach. She sniffed the air more carefully this time, and recognized the scent she held so dear. Spottedsun!! Joysong turned toward the smell and tracked it, tracked it for a while and finally found her friend strolling, her tail drooped. She caught up with her, and saw the grief and regret in her usually lively, kind eyes, and anxiety swirled in the ginger warrior.
"Hey, Spottedsun. What's up?" Joysong narrowed her eyes. "What's wrong, is what I should really say."

Her eyes dragged upward to the cat that stood in front of her, and stopping into a slow trudge and then to a halt, her heart skipped a tormenting beat. Joysong! she thought, struggling to compose herself and searching for words that wouldn't carry back more of the terrible feelings. Stumbling a little, she opened her mouth, but nothing came out.
The sound of her voice had finally caught up to her. "Joysong...? W-who'd you say you're mother was?" Trembling, she searched the young cat's narrowed eyes, praying to StarClan the warrior wasn't angry with her. This would ruin her chance to rid herself of this longing pain for her kits. Breathing hard, she wished she could tell everything, everything that had happened to her, whether or not she was her kit or not, with a blink and the flashing of her eyes. But something like this --something so harsh and spikey to the grip-- was never as simple as that.

Joysong narrowed her eyes further. "Spottedsun, something is wrong and you need to tell me. Every time I come into the nursery with fresh-kill, or when you see me, you get all jerky and nervous and you have trouble talking. It started ever since Whisperstar made me Creampaw's mentor. What's up?" Then Spottedsun asked a question that widened her eyes and made them dull with confusion. She suddenly realized it had been Spottedsun scaring off the prey, and her annoyance at the incident vanished. "And I know you've been scaring off the prey, so next time you're moping, come to me first!" A grin came on her face, then disapperared as she closed her eyes. "One moment," she murmured. Digging deep into all the memory StarClan granted her when she was reincarnated, she heard voices. One achingly familiar, one she rarely heard directed at herself. The familiar one was Spottedsun, and the other with a lengthy name of Willowhispersong. (Or just Willow) "Willow was my mother... I think. She never talks to me at all. Why do you ask?" Suddenly it hit her. Why would the voices be talking in a memory so deeply hidden?
Spottedsun! Spottedsun is my mother!
Strangely, she didn't feel angry that the grey queen had hidden this from her; she felt overjoyed that she actually did have a mother who cared for her. "Spottedsun? You're my mother, aren't you?" Joysong whispered. "You gave me up because you were too young to take care of me and was afraid I and my littermates would die, correct?" The ginger tabby warrior looked up at her best friend, waiting for an answer.

Spottedsun sighed a long sigh, the relief visible in the exhale and the secret's awful pain leaving her heart. "Yes, Joysong," she breathed, facing her with smoldering eyes, trying to detect something that would bring the pain back. "I am your mother."
Glancing around, she shook her head. "I wish I'd never given you up...Seeing you now, seeing you so much older than the tiny Splotchkit I remember, it makes my heart soar. You're alive, you're healthy, you're happy, you're strong, --you're everything I want my daughter to have and to be. I'm so sorry you had lose your other littermates. I would have never let them die, but atleast you're still with me." She stepped forward, licking the she-cat between her ears. "I love you, sweetheart. I always will."
