Appearance:
Spiritpaw, as strange and complex as his name suggests, has an appearance befitting this name as well. One glance at him and you will automatically think of the specter he was named for. Before we get to his pelt and other assorted body features, I think it would be appropriate to talk about his body structure. Spiritpaw isn't a cat of litheness, he isn't a cat of immense girth. This tom-cat is completely normal in terms of size. His legs are long enough to not be considered stubby, rippling with finely tuned muscle. His head is normal sized as well, no freakishly alien like large craniums here. This apprentice is handsome, not in an outright, drop dead gorgeous way, though. He has a way about him, a way of moving and being that is very mysterious and alluring, like a shadow slithering across the floor.
Now, onto Spiritpaw's pelt, a strange enigma of patterns and colors, making it seem like he were stitched together, specially made by the cats of StarClan. He looks like a rag doll, pieces of fabric stitched onto a pelt of pure white. First of all, adorned upon his head, are ashy gray tabby stripes, erratically placed. The stripes are almost like a mast, like the Phantom of the Opera, completely on one side. The left side of his face is where the stripes are most prominent. They fade to a light gray on his muzzle, then extend up to fill the crown of his head. The right side of his face, however, is relatively untouched by the stripes. Weird, hm? Moving onto perhaps the most prominent of Spiritpaw's features, his eyes. Their color can be kind of a shock amidst all that white, icy blue gemstones in a field of snow. His left eye is clouded by blindness, and it is so very obvious.
His fur length is something to be talked about as well. It is not long like that of a RiverClan cat's, it is not extremely short. Spiritpaw hit a happy medium with his fur, especially being in ShadowClan. It's a bit thicker on his chest and sides, growing shorter as you get to his legs. Crawling further down his body, you will find the last stitching of Spiritpaw's pelt. His tail. Yes, his shockingly BROWN tail. You would figure that since he was white pretty much everywhere else, his tail would be white. That is not the case. His tail is long and brush-like, chocolate brown in hue, really sticking out from the rest of his fur.
Personality:
In all honesty, Spiritpaw isn't the most social thing in the entire world. He prefers to be alone with his thoughts, rather than in the company of other cats. Going back to Spiritpaw's anti social nature, it is well known within the Clan that this tom doesn't really have any friends. He is a sort of outcast and likes it that way. In fact, if anyone tries to get close to him, Spiritpaw will push them away. He doesn't even know why he does this, but he does. Anyone that tries to get close to him automatically fails. Spiritpaw also refuses help from anyone, and it's not because he's too proud to take it. Spiritpaw learned at a very early age to be self sufficient. Accepting help from anyone would shatter that.
Spiritpaw is also someone you could describe as an 'old soul.' He is wise beyond his years with a faith in StarClan that is unwavering, yet flexible and open minded. His odd, calm wisdom comes from deep within his intelligent, exacting mind, and many moons of living with his grandfather. Spiritpaw, however wise and calm he is, is also completely unselfish, a sacrificial martyr in the face of danger. He isn't afraid of dying, seeing as he almost did once. Spiritpaw would rather die for his friends than let anything happen to him, all of this going back to his extreme loyalty. He'll stand by you, no matter what, even if you're wrong. That's just the way he is. This apprentice will always stand up for his loved ones as well, like that leader who tends to stand up for the little guy.
There is a dark side of Spiritpaw that no one knows about, that he refuses to show anyone. A deep, unwavering depression settles over this cat at any time he thinks about his grandfather. He'll stay away from camp for days on end with these bouts of sadness hit because he doesn't want anyone to see him that way. Spiritpaw won't eat or interact with anyone at all. He hates this depression, seeing it as a little monster that takes over his entire soul. He loathes himself for letting that darkness take over, but he still hasn't figured out how to get over his grandfather's death. In a way, he doesn't want to.
He can be rather cruel though, another bit of the dark side. Growing up in ShadowClan, he loves hurting others sometimes, but only when the depression sets in and e needs to make himself feel better.
History:
Spiritpaw was born as Mottledkit to a young she-cat by the name of Ivyrain. Frostheart died in birth, since she was much too young to be having kits anyway, leaving Mottledkit orphaned. Luckily, Ivyrainf's father, Mottledkit's grandfather, stepped into the role of raising the kit. Grayheart was his name, and he was a newly made elder. The gentle and wise tomcat raised the kit has if he were his own son with kindness and wisdom. Mottledkit lived with his grandfather in the elder's den as soon as he was able to be weaned. The elderly tom taught his grandson things about life and love, spirit and wisdom. Mottledkit took it all in with gusto, learning at a very early age that wisdom and the power of words were more powerful than tooth and claw.
Time went on, and one day, Mottledkit and Grayheart were walking through camp when calamity broke out. A group of rogues smashed into camp, causing fear and chaos to break out everywhere. Grayheart quickly urged his grandson into the nursery while he stayed back and fought. Mottledkit refused. He didn't want to leave his grandfather, the only family he had left. Just when Mottledkit decided it would be a good idea to retreat, a rogue grabbed him so hard that his neck almost snapped. The puncture wounds from the rogue's teeth started to bleed profusely, making the kit yowl in pain. This yowl caught the attention of Grayheart, who ran to his grandson's defense.
The elderly tom was no match for the rogue, and the rogue killed Grayheart, right in front of Mottledkit. Mottledkit was thrown into a state of raging shock and threw himself at the rogue, but was quickly and easily overpowered and almost killed. Luckily, a few warriors stepped in before something terrible could happen to him. Mottledkit refused to leave his grandfather's side, because a flicker of life sparked in Grayheart's eyes for a brief second. The old tom looked his grandson straight in the eyes one last time and told him to endure. Mottledkit promised his grandfather to do just that. Live on. Endure. A few moons later, when Mottledkit was healed, he requested his name be changed to Spiritkit, to evoke his dead grandfather. The Clan agreed, and so it was.
But that was not the end. Right when he was at the age of an apprentice, he left out of camp on his own. His mentor's name was that of Inksoul. The dark mentor did not care much of Spiritpaw, and Spiritpaw therefore did not much for him either. From the start, ever since his grandfather's death, Spiritpaw was an eager apprentice. He wanted to make his 'father' proud.
But continuing on, the one day Spiritpaw decided to leave camp without his mentor, his Clan was attacked again by a Clan of rouges. Spiritpaw was gone, too far away and by the DeathClan border to have heard the cries of battle, the yowling and the terror. Just as he was about to head back to camp, a rouge ran by with his leader his its jaws. Spiritpaw, not knowing what was going on ran to SoulClan, not stopping unti; he ran dead smack into the clearing of the Clan.
Breathing hard he told Flamestar(I guess she was leader then, but it has been a while so he is till an apprentice. He was like really young when this happened), and the dark ginger she-cat willingly welcomed him into the Clan.
Spiritpaw has been there ever since, and recently he found out that he had a brother by the name of Creekpaw, who he did not know of, from a litter that his father had.
((Note: I wanted to add more to his history, 'nd Creekpaw's was too short of a history so... .__.))
Family:
Mother ;;Ivyrain(deceased)
Father ;;Ghoststep(deceased)
Brothers ;;Cursedpaw(deceased)Sparkpaw(deceased)
Creekpaw
Sisters ;;Gorsepaw(deceased)
Grandfather ;;Grayheart(deceased)
Grandmother ;;Stonefang(deceased)
Mate:
None, too young
Kits:
More or less never, he does not want to make the same mistake as his mother did.
Apprentice:
Is an apprentice himself
Mentor:
None [Needs to be assigned]
Extra Notes:
He is almost blind in his left eye, he can still see but it seems a bit blurry. To those looking at it, it just looks regular, but as if a piece of glass were covering a small part of the irises in which he sees is blurry from where he is looking out of.
Weaknesses:
Hates most she-cats, only because of his mother's death and her never saying goodbye or even telling him anything, such as what happened to his father.
Strengths:
Is excellent in battle and brave, coming from his grandfather. Usually is very cruel when it comes to hunting, such as killing and torturing with the prey before eating it. Sometimes, being in ShadowClan and all, he will tear it apart slowly and painfully.
Theme Song:
Getting Away With Murder by Papa Roach
Somewhere beyond happiness and sadness
I need to calculate
What creates my own madness
And I'm addicted to your punishment
And you're the master
And I am waiting for disaster
I feel irrational
So confrontational
To tell the truth I am
Getting away with murder
It isn't possible
To never tell the truth
But the reality is I'm getting away with murder
(Getting away, Getting away, Getting away)
2) Let Go by RED
Hey you, look what you do to me
You bend and you bruise me
Why you try to control me?
But you don't know me
How come you just want to hurt me?
How come you just want to push me?
I can't ignore you anymore
Cause everywhere I turn you
You burn me, you break me
You always want to take me down with you
What do you want from me?
I don't wanna be afraid, I don't wanna run away
I don't want to be here fading it's more that I can take
I'm never gonna be the same
I threw it all away
I don't want to be here fading
Just let go! (look what you do to me)
Let go! (look what you do to me)
